A lovely enclave in a quieter part of town, about 3.5km from the city center though walking distance to the beach and a few nice spots for a drink or meal.
The hosts are delightful, friendly, and helpful, they will go out of their way to help you and to make the most of your visit.
The garden is beautiful and the breakfast is fresh and filling. The accommodations are nice, not luxurious though clean and comfortable.
I would happily stay again if I returned to Paraty.

Yvan is a fantastic host. He keeps beautiful gardens, pool, and outdoor dining areas. The Pousada rooms are very clean and comfortable. Best of all, Yvan is very helpful recommending dining restaurants and activities. You will have a great time at his pousada.

We were warmly welcomed by Yvan, whose friendliness, kindness and interest in getting to know us made us feel write at home. The pousada was a well-groomed colorful tropical garden, complete with Caio the parrot and monkeys. Denise created delicious homemade breakfasts of fruits, juice, coffee, eggs, crepes and cakes. She, also, was kind and hospitable. The pool is spotlessly clean and beautiful. Our rooms were comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and inviting, Yvan gave us great recommendations for restaurants with beautiful views, as well as activities that were enjoyable. Speaking in many languages, he made all his guests feel like family. What a wonderful place to stay! There are good restaurants within a couple of blocks and a beach right across the street. I highly recommend staying here while you’re in Paraty. It was beyond my expectations.

Like entering a hidden garden. It is gorgeous. The rooms are private and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious; try the crepewhen offered. The host Ivan is charming and very helpful. A very safe neighborhood

Absolutely loved our stay at Eliconial! Beautiful hotel, amazing staff. Monkeys, cats and a parrot. I am so happy we chose this hotel! The room was well maintained and well equipped, the pool and gardens were gorgeous, breakfast was good, and there’s private parking. It’s definitely worth the walk to the historic centre.

Property is at one end of Jabaquara beach which itself is not the best beach in the area although its not far at all from historic center 3(min taxi ride ). Here is where things are not supportive for courteous Hospitality for Visitors. The Cost/value just plummets when you pay Top dollar for average service and Hospitality. Taxi driver wanted 50 R for trip. I pay considerably less for a ride from Ipanema to Santa Teresa Neigborhoodd in Pricy Rio de Janeiro. Stay in the Historic center of Paraty with the hospitable brazilian locals who are fair and receptive in the tourist buissness. The historic center has a plethora of wonderful accomodations and services.

This is a super charming posada with the most beautiful garden! The pool and the whole Pousada is very well maintained with great attention to detail. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The owners speak perfect English and were super helpful with some great activity recommendations (Tarzan Waterfalls) - we felt very much taken care of! Highly recommend!

What an amazing experience staying here. Both owners gave us lots of information on both the best beaches and restaurants to eat at. The landscape was very tropical and lovely. Also the room was very nice. The location was in a good area close to some good restaurants at the beach. The breakfast was super yummy. Definitely recommend anyone who plans to stay in Paraty stay here.
