Le Montclair Montmartre by River

Très bien placé. Hôtel assez bien pour une ou 2 nuits

Escaliers en colimaçon, pas d'ascenseur. Chambre de 4 un peu trop étroite pour les personnes qui ont des bagages volumineux. Le plus, salle de bain attenante à la chambre, bien éclairé, propre avec une grande fenêtre.

L'hôtel Montclair est très bien situé, à deux pas du métro et du bus et de toute façon on a accès à tout en marchant. Le sacré cœur est à 10 minutes à pieds... Notre accueil a été correct, nous avons juste trouvé dommage de ne pas pouvoir réserver le petit-déjeuner pour le lendemain, il fallait visiblement le faire en même temps que la réservation, tant pis pour nous. Au niveau de la chambre, tout était propre, le matelas et les oreillers étaient de très bonne qualité, la chambre était petite mais c'était bien suffisant pour dormir. La cabine de douche était aussi petite et le vrai point négatif était la sortie d'eau, il n'y avait pas de pommeau de douche alors pour se doucher c'était le jet en plein visage, cela n'était pas hyper agréable mais pas mortel non plus. Le point le plus noir, qui nous a empêché de dormir, a été le bruit. Les murs semblent fait de papier et les passages à répétition toute la nuit avec les portes qui claquaient ne nous ont pas laissé fermer l'œil...dommage.

There were pros and cons to our stay. I booked it as a hotel but it is a hostel (not really and issue for us). The website photos do not accurately reflect the current state of the building. It is not bright and fresh as in the photos, but very tired and in need of some serious TLC. While the beds and bedding were very comfortable, the metal bed frames were very noisy. The window frames were rotten and allowed the weather in. The hairdryer didn’t really dry and was stuck together with tape. We were on the top floor and had a lovely view of Sacre Coeur. There is no elevator which didn’t bother us but could be an issue for some travellers. Despite the rundown nature of the property, it was perfectly adequate for our needs and we found some great restaurants nearby. Value for money, just don’t expect what you see in the pictures.

The location was quiet and felt safe. The rooms were basic and not quite like the photos. Beds were comfy and rooms were warm. Breakfast was OK.

All their rooms had bed bugs or were booked and they turned us away in the night to find a place to stay elsewhere with no help in getting a refund

The experience was a nightmare. It started from the very beginning. The checkin guys gave me an old style key for the room which said room 406. I asked which floor, they said 4th. I asked where is the elevator and guess the answer "NO ELEVATOR". I am like.. wait, I just came here from another country with my family and 3 gigantic suitcases. Am I hearing this right ?? Well, at that point I had nobody to blame but me. So I paid for it by lifting 30kg suitcases 4 floors with a bad back. And that was just the beginning of my suffering. Next up, I opened the door lock with this old style "key" and when i enter I could find a room that was barely lit. I mean at night time, I needed my phone's flashlight to look inside my luggage!. Then I tried to lock the room from inside and guess what, it won't open without the key !!!. Are we living in 1950 ? Ok, so here's some more nonsense: - Bathroom is stinky - No hot water - shower area was smaller than the width of my suitcase. - No AC is sweltering summer - No way to contact reception from within room.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay with our 2 children in a family room. The hotel is basic but clean. Well situated with a very easy walk to Monmarte and a metro station 2 minutes walk away. lots of small restaurants, bars and cafes around the area. Breakfast is simple but good and staff are friendly7 and helpful. Would recommend for a simple stay in Paris that is good value for money.
