I thought I would write a review on here as reading up about the area and there being no up to date reviews I was very apprehensive about stopping here with it just being my adult daughter and myself. On arriving at the stop from metro line 4 we were unsure of where the exit nearest to the hotel was so asked a guardsman who promptly directed us and I could see the sign for the hotel straight ahead of us, my daughter did say that a random guy had looked at us but we were not approached. On arrival at the hotel I was thankful to see that all looked “normal “ the lady checking us in was very pleasant and we were directed to our room, I had asked for a twin and both the beds were pushed together, no problem for us at all , we were in a disabled room for some reason but this again wasn’t a problem as that meant we weren’t squashed up in a small shower cubicle, everything looked very clean and seemed to be cleaned daily, the room as many suggested was on the small size but ok for us. Breakfast consisted of mini pastries, yoghurt, mixed fruit salad , boiled or scrambled eggs, toast/bread , small selection of cheese & meats & slices of what looked like carrot cake with seeded edges which my daughter loved, tea & a coffee machine. In the late afternoon on our first evening we ventured out walking to the touristy bit of Montmarte , although we were walking along a street with many ethnic takeaways etc and with seemingly a lot of men, although I felt like my daughter was being stared at we were not approached or jeered at. On the way back my daughter used her maps on her phone for guidance and it by passed all the “dodgy” Road entirely,so my advice would be if you visit sacre Ceour etc from her turn left out of the hotel , you will see a McDonald’s on the corner go up the street facing there & put your maps on then. All in all a lovely stay and the hotel itself is pleasant with lovely staff. One area of concern we caught a bus to the opera area from a stop around 5 mins walk away from the hotel where there was a Sunday market going off , not too bad at around 10am when we set off , but early afternoon when we returned it was total mayhem it was the 95 bus ( I think) , we thought it went to the Sacre Ceour but it did not, the terminus was not far from our hotel where we originally caught the bus going to Opera & I refused to walk back towards the chaos, so we hopped on a number 60 which thankfully got us out of the way , whilst on the bus my daughter noticed a couple ( obviously tourists) like us who had unfortunately got off the original bus we were on amongst all the mayhem & were approached by a young guy that I believe was going to pick pocket the guy but thankfully was shooed away by an older guy, I just pray he wasn’t approached again.
