Truly excellent pub with very high standard of accommodation. Very convenient location with plenty to do. Hearty breakfast and very good and reasonably priced evening menu. Charming hostess ensured plenty of conversation and with other guests. Highly recommended and justifies repeated visits. Real ale.

Its a nice pub, no frills. We had a very nice meal there, just like a proper home cooked one, we have been there before a few times on previous visits to the Forest and we always enjoyed the food and drink. Would thoroughly recommend it. Decent menu too.

Great location in the middle of Dean’s forest. Staff is attentive and friendly. Rooms are refurbished, while preserving the historic character of the building, and very clean. Meals are good. The Dean’s forest steam railway is round the corner. Great value for money!

A pleasant stay overall. Easy to book and excellent communications prior to arrival. Spacious and comfortable room which was clean and well equipped. Breakfast needs to be pre-ordered and everything was as requested and nicely cooked. We also enjoyed an evening meal which was tasty and good value. Only minor downsides were the rather patchy wifi and the road noise in the morning, but these would not prevent us staying again.

The room was clean and tidy, breakfast was good and catered for gluten free, evening meals very well cooked and go value for money. Happy and helpful staff.

Lovely place to stay which I thoroughly recommend. Comfortable, friendly and a great location. Been for drinks in the pub before and decided it was time to have a weekend away there and it didn’t disappoint. Great food, nice beer and very welcoming.

Excellent room, comfy beds and a nicely decorated room. The food and service was, as always, very good. The location is well suited to exploring the Forest of Dean, both walking and birdwatching. In the bar there are numerous photographs and objects showing the history of the inn and the village of Parkend. Well worth a stay in my opinion. Plenty of parking by the way.

Whilst visiting family in the Forest of Dean we booked a couple of nights at the Fountain. We've stayed here before and it never disappoints! The owners and staff are super friendly and extremely welcoming. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Add in the great food, relaxing bar area, with a lovely selection of local ales, and you've got the perfect place to stay! We look forward to visiting again in the near future.

A really great place to stay, excellent value for money with wonderful staff. We stayed for three nights and would have stayed longer. Evening meals where of a very high standard and excellent value, as stated. Good free parking with local walks Will return.
