Paternoster Dunes Boutique Guesthouse

There are a lot of wonderful reviews for the Paternoster Dunes Guesthouse on Trip Advisor and we can now wholeheartedly agree with them all. As a couple, we were fortunate to spend the last week of September at the Guesthouse and we are so glad we did. And also glad that we spent more than 2 or 3 nights there. Because if we hadn’t we would have been kicking ourselves that we were leaving too soon! We have been fortunate to travel quite extensively but there are very few places that pay so much attention to detail, and deliver such a high standard of warm, friendly & caring hospitality. Everything has been carefully thought about - the antique furniture, the wonderful cacti decorations, the warm fire on a cool evening, a very well stocked honesty bar, complimentary afternoon tea & cake, a fantastic range of coffee table books…… The essentials are also superb as well. Spotlessly clean, crisp bedding & fluffy dressing gowns, a wonderful fresh breakfast each morning, comfy loungers on your patio, a secluded pool, immediate beach access (and what a beach!) and a view to die for. Add in Jurgen & his team’s care & attentiveness, assistance with local knowledge, restaurant bookings etc etc And all in a lovely seaside village with many wonderful dining choices from casual to world class, and with places like the West Coast National Park, the Fossil Park, the Columbine Nature Reserve all so close. We both feel privileged to have been able to spend 7 nights here!

We stayed at this gorgeous little b & b for a few days before Xmas. We had the beautiful Aqua room which opened via a little patio directly onto the beach. Everything about this place is welcoming - the free breakfast, the honour bar upstairs, the homemade rusks in the room ( yum!!), etc. The service was fantastic. Jurgen and everyone were wonderful - proactively making us dinner reservations and gave us padkos for the journey home. We ate at the Noisy Oyster ( amazing), Wolfgat ( ❤️) and Gaaitjie ( delicious). The location was perfect at the south end of town - and a bit quieter. Everything is walkable.

We had such a great weekend away at Paternoster Dunes Boutique Guest House. Staff was friendly, breakfast was delicious and the accommodation exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much, we will certainly be back in the future!

The stay at Paternoster Dunse for seven days was devine. Staff are attentive and friendly and the accomodation is everything you would hope for. The location could not be better, with scnenic beach front views of the Atlantic. If you are looking for a quiet time and near perfect weather, then May is certainly a good choice. Can easily recommend and will go again.

I have travelled the world and stayed in the best hotels, but never have I stayed anywhere, where a small scissors is included with the coffee sachets (which you can never open), nor seen bands aids included in the toiletries in a room. In term of the breakfast, the presentation was 5 start plus. You can definitely see that the owners have thought of every detail and care about the guests. Highly recommended!
