Road trip to Georgia with a stop for one night on both ends of the trip. Unfortunately, had I booked only one night I would have checked into another hotel on the return. To be fair, I had no problem with the front desk staff, but the housekeeping staff leave much to be desired. When I first arrived, and started unpacking, everything seemed fine. When I opened the small fridge I found a pool of water in the bottom. O.K., I have a cooler, I'll just refill it with ice. As I started cleaning various items with disinfectant wipes, I noticed behind a chair the lamp hadn't been cleaned in a long while and a Dorito (or some such) was on the floor. Obviously no one is cleaning back here, nor checking "the help". I saw a hair beside the drain (not mine). I went to call the front desk and got no dial tone. I told my husband to stop what he was doing and I would go downstairs and ask for another room. I was given another room that was tolerable in spite of having to go through the disinfecting process again. Unfortunately this room also showed signs of poor housekeeping...grunge inside the shower and shower door and another hair! Totally unacceptable! On the return trip, I was hoping I had misjudged this location. Again, great front desk service but upon entering the bathroom, a washcloth was draped over the shower rod and a used piece of soap was stuck to the side of the bath tub along with (the same) soap in the center of the tub. Sorry guys, you may be short staffed but if you're going to sell it check it!
