Excellent food and fantastic service Good traditional range of Pub food with lots of choice. The food was excellent and presented professionally. The staff team were very attentive and welcoming. We have already booked for another lunch!

i visited here with my family and was very unimpressed. 5 had the pork sandwich and 1 had the small fish and chips.on one of the pork baps we asked to swap to a sourdough bloomer instead of a floured bap. however when it arrived it came on 2 peices of toast! not what we asked for. they were all under filled and only had 1 piece of very dry pork.the roast potatoes were good but that’s about it. it was all under seasoned with bland flavour l. the staff were all lovely tho.

You are only as good as your staff. We kept asking where are food order was and 3 staff never got back to us. Walked out after waiting I hour. It wasn’t busy as we were told it was, quite empty when we walked out!. It’s a lovely pub/ restaurant but would not go back again

We arrived 2 hours early for check in (due to attending a wedding) and the staff were amazing, every single.member of staff were welcoming, thoughtful polite and go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. We were shown up to our room so we could drop our bag off. The room was immaculately clean, it was cosy and the little touches of coffee, tea and biscuits are a Nice touch. The ensuite bathroom was just as immaculate and modern. There was plenty of shampoo and shower get to use. We had a good night's rest, the bed was very comfortable. In the morning we made our way for breakfast. We had a right treat. The chef is passionate and experienced. All the food was fresh, presented beautifully and tasted amazing. I absolutely would stay here again.

Beautiful little hideaway in heart of Cheshire and about 5 mins drive from the worlds 3rd biggest telescope - the Lovell at Jodrell Bank. Staff very helpful and friendly, food lovely and they accept dogs (though with a name like that they should)

We went with a group of 14 friends in total to a celebratory evening meal. The service from beginning to end was impeccable. Chef John came out to explain the provenance of the food and to assist our meal choices which was so helpful and informative. I had the steak and ale pie (amongst other things !) which was delicious. Fellow diners were equally delighted with their choices. I thoroughly recommend this pub. We will return.

Chose to eat here for my birthday lunch as it had decent reviews and a nice menu. Booked in advance as was busy when we arrived. Service was lovely - friendly, warm and felt genuine. Food was good quality and nicely presented with a good choice of traditional pub food options – ham, egg and chips, fish and chips and so on. Enjoyable lunch.

Visited the dog today after nearly a year. All I can say is stunning, we ordered the lamb to share and it was as it always is beautifully cooked. For desert we tried the brownie and panna cotta both were really nice, small size on the brownie but it was very rich and anymore would have become sickly. Service was good, very welcoming and homely. I would recommend this to anyone. 👍👍👍

Second visit to The Dog. Lovely pub with excellent staff. The menu is somewhat restricted on Sunday & very much focuses on the roasts & if they are as good as this, then why not! We had the half shoulder of lamb (£39 for 2 people). The lamb was fall off the bone tender & very tasty. Veg sides all beautifully cooked & presented. We did have sticky toffee pudding, to be honest that was a little disappointing as it was only just warm. Overall excellent lunch, recommended!
