„What a beautiful location. A historic villa surrounded by breathtaking scenery and transformed into a quality hotel with respect for traditions and history. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly Claudia, who did everything to meet our room requirements. All the staff are friendly, obliging and very helpful. Everyone deserves a compliment, but we would like to mention two people in particular because they really stood out during our stay. Firstly Susana, who, as responsible for the whole, was literally everywhere at the same time during our stay, and who coordinated the activities with flair, flexibility, insight and customer focus. A professional lady with knowledge of her job, sincere kindness and a warm heart, who was always ready to help or provide information. We also want to mention Vasil. A devil-does-all who was always ready and who noticed everything to take appropriate action right away. Friendly, warm, obliging, professional and discreet, that is what characterizes him. La Ghirlanda can be proud of employees such as Susana and Vasil. Regarding the accommodation: it is top notch. Quiet and very rural, quality service, good food, exquisite wines, comfortable rooms with all amenities, a well-located base to explore the Umbria region and the Sagrantino terroir. In between, you can also relax by the pool where you have a literally astonishing view of the surrounding Umbrian hills, the unspoiled nature and the enormous estate of the Count Pongelli-Benedettoni family, where top wines, olive oil and many other organic products are made with respect for nature. We had a very adventurous tour of the estate in a Polaris all-terrain vehicle with expert explanations from Guilhelmo, son of the Count, who provided us with all necessary clarifications with flair, in a very warmly and knowledgeable manner. We will be back for sure!”
