Well, we arrived at noon as we usually do to check in at any hotel for our regular couple's staycation which we do every month. I explained to her that we never experience any issues anywhere with the hotel checking us in "early" around noon. This receptionist, however, told us check it was a strict 3 pm--she didn't even make an effort to check on room availability or make any effort to get us into a room.
Since we were "stuck" with no room, we went to eat some lunch nearby, and with nowhere else to go after lunch, we came back to the hotel to wait 'til 3.. She saw us waiting in the lobby and told us she was going to go ahead and check us in.
She checked us into a room and when we went up and opened the door, the room was a mess and not made up yet. So we hauled the cart back down and without even apologizing, she checked us into a different room. When we went up to the second room it was also a mess and had not yet been made up. At this point we thought she was doing this to us on purpose. She sent us to a 3rd room, hauling the cart everywhere we went, and finally the 3rd room was clean.
This receptionist/hostess was not very friendly, obviously not very helpful, and completely unprofessional. We do realize it's incredibly hard for the service industry to fill positions post-covid , but a hotel receptionist should possess some friendlier more helpful attributes.
