Parkside Resort

What an amazing experience our families had at Parkside Resort this past week! The resort has so much to offer that we spent most of our time in Pigeon Forge hanging out in the cabin/resort lodge area. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! Cabin was clean with everything we needed already there. We even used the BBQ Grill which came with all the utensils needed to cook. The lodge area has an indoor and outdoor pool with water slides. We got a round in of Putt Putt which is free to play (18 holes). Make sure to order the fried Oreos and fries from the grill while sitting poolside. And let’s not forget the gym! Free weights, cardio equipment, benches, and let’s not forget the cool signs they have in there for some added motivation. The views from the cabin were breathtaking as well. Oh and buy your Dollywood tickets at the front desk. They were cheaper than buying them at Dollywood. Saved about $14 a person this way. Just an all around amazing experiences! We will be back again very soon!

"A Peaceful Easy Feeling" was everything the website described! Plenty of room, multiple bedrooms/bathrooms on each floor. Everything was clean and ready for us to enjoy our week. Just like the cabin name, it was "peaceful"! A washer/dryer is available. Huge kitchen with basically everything you might need from the stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, cooking equipment, gas grill, and so many other items. Fun game room with 2 upright arcade games that each have 20+ games from the 80s, mini shuffle board, full size pool table, card games for the kids, and even a mini fridge in that room. The theater room is neat, but no movies supplied. From what we could figure out, you had to have a streaming service (Disney, Netflix, etc) or take your chances flipping through the tv channels. This was the only disappointing experience of our week. Each floor has a deck with a beautiful view of the Smokey Mountains. The hot tub was wonderful for relaxing in the evening. Bedrooms are a good size, comfortable beds and TVs are in each room all over the cabin. Over the week, we used and enjoyed nearly every inch of this heaven away from home.

The resort itself was amazing! Went for a wedding that was booked a year in advanced, but the wedding coordinator for Parkside was not easy to work with. She was rude, and not helpful. When calling to pay for the rooms in the cabins, we were not told to ask for her specifically , so when we called the number on the website we were told that we didn’t have a reservation, and they couldn’t help us, because they don’t book weddings only cabins and told us to get the name of the cabin and call back, when we gave them the name of the cabin. So frustrating! When we finally figured out to call the coordinator, she was never there, we had to leave a message and sometimes it took her a full day to get back to us. When I, myself talked to her I asked about the final payment( since you pay for the full cabin) and I and the Groom were told 2 times that the Bride and Groom would get a final bill the week after the wedding, but the bride was told the final payment needed to made the week before the wedding. I would not recommend anyone to reserve the Lodge for a wedding, unless there is a different coordinator!

Save yourself and go elsewhere especially if you’re a bride looking at the Smoky Mountain Lodge and or Rocky top Lodge. We stayed in the Smoky Mountain lodge and the Hot tub was absolutely disgusting and did not heat at all, cobwebs everywhere, three non working TV’s and a firepit that didn’t work. Maintenance came on Friday to check the hot tub and never returned to fix it. If you are planning a wedding here please beware of the angry neighbor that nobody will tell you about. He has huge signs hanging directly out on the backside of the cabin that reads, This is not the place for loud music and parties. People live here, show some respect! They knew this before they took your money’ Yes they absolutely do know about this and will not inform you that this man has speakers on his back porch and will start blaring banjo music right at the time of your event! It is so loud that you can’t hear your own music or DJ over his and you can also hear it inside of the cabin. He played it until after 10:00pm and it was the most creepiest feeling. The wedding coordinator told us after the fact that he does this all of time and has even been to jail for chasing someone with a machete! How do these people not inform their guest about this? It blows my mind! They also have cameras placed all around this cabin so you constantly feel like you’re being watched and have no privacy whatsoever. Stay far far away from these cabins especially for brides!! And Parkside is very sneaky about hiding negative reviews as they have blocked my Facebook account after I tried to make customers aware.

We went to Parkside Resort - Big Bear Retreat, this cabin was absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views. Cabin itself was very clean and the owners did an amazing job with the amenities. The huge porch was beautiful with a fire place and TV. Beds were very comfortable and clean. We would definitely rent this cabin again, it was everything we wanted. We did not want to leave.

This was our third visit to the resort and our second stay at “Majestic Mountain View,” and it’s one of those cabins where you wish you could spend the entire month. Evenings are magical, especially by the fireplace when the world outside darkens. Inside, the cabin is a masterpiece. The spacious balcony offered us a serene morning view, completely undisturbed by other cabins. The large windows throughout let you soak in the natural beauty from any spot in the cabin. The main living area and kitchen are beautifully decorated, making you feel like you’re deep in the woods while enjoying breathtaking views from the balcony. The cabin has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the kitchen was perfect for our family, who love to cook and grill on the balcony. It was fully stocked with all the cookware, dishes, and glassware we needed. The lower rec room and theater were a hit with my son and me; we enjoyed movies and pool games with a glass of wine on the side. The jacuzzi is a must, especially in the fall or winter. The property is well-maintained, with a large flat area in front for easy parking. We’re already planning our next visit!

We stayed the weekend for a wedding and the entire experience was a disaster!! This place RUINED my cousin’s wedding. After a thorough walkthrough, she was informed everything that was included with a hefty price tag. Two weeks prior to the wedding, the venue informed her that they needed an additional $1,800 to use the downstairs reception area. After deciding to simply move the reception into the cabin instead of paying more money, it was noticed more and more how ridiculous this was. The reception area is attached to the cabin and was not being used. The fact that they refused to honor what was verbally promised initially was mistake #1. Next, the neighbors hung signs and played loud music to disrupt the entire wedding. Parkside was aware that this is a common issue with the residents and did not disclose it during the walkthrough or contract signing. The cabin was filthy, the hot tub did not work, three televisions were broken, there are bugs and spiders everywhere!! A maintenance man came on the first night, but nothing was resolved. Due to all of the issues, we requested one last time for them to open the reception area to make things right. That’s the absolute least they could have done to save this event for our family, but they refused. There are many other options to choose from if you’re wanting a beautiful mountain wedding. STAY AWAY FROM PARKSIDE if you value honesty, transparency, service, and a dollar well spent. The property and views are beautiful. That is probably the only good thing I can say about this place. It is a shame that a good concept can be easily ruined by poor service and management. DO BETTER!!

Once again, our family had an amazing experience at Parkside! The staff made sure all our needs were met and that we had a wonderful vacation and holiday. We have been coming here for year and can’t wait until next year!

I recently stayed at Awesome Mountain Sunsets which is in Parkside Resort with my family which, and it was definitely a trip to remember. The cabin was great – TONS of kitchen and entertaining space which was perfect for our large group. We ventured into Gatlinburg to try out the Moonshine we’d heard so much about and eat at the Old Mill Restaurant (their corn chowder is amazing). We spent most of our time hanging around the cabin which was easy to do with the hot tub, movie room and game room. We will definitely be back to see even more Awesome Mountain Sunsets from this cabin.
