Hotel Posada Sian Kaan Playa del Carmen

Excellent location near the water (only a few steps away), and next to the main street. The place itself looks hystoric. It even has a small cenote by the pool area. The management was very accomodating and helpful. They even offered us breakfast and did not have to pay addional fees. Great place to relax

Room was clean,thats it,breakfast not included as advertised, no extra coffee,etc, broken pool furniture, would not stay here again, close to beach thats it.wouldnt give any wash cloths.2nf class citizens if you book third party. Room is not cleaned till 4:00 pm even with good tips

This is our third stay at Posada Sian Kaan over the last 9 years! It is a perfect location and peaceful little boutique oasis. We love the location to the beach and breakfast was always good and the wait staff is friendly. We love Playa Del Carmen and will return again.

Location is OK ,but very loud until 12-1am at night because of a restaurant and club music. Outdated from the outside , not enough electric outlets in a room ,also we saw mold in a shower. When you step outside of a hotel room you can see trash and broken stuff like a toilet on the ground(gross).The staff can barely speak english,which was a problem during the stay.Not enough toiletries in the bathroom provided .Also beware of extra fees they may ask you to pay,double check your booking before you arrive ,since we were charged extra ,that we shouldn't be charged.Would never be back here. There are much better options for that price.

This hotel was perfect for our family and our first trip to Playa del Carmen. It is very close to both the beach and the activity on 5th Avenue, but is still quiet. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If we make it back to Playa, we will definitely want to stay here again

We booked this hotel on a whim and we absolutely loved it. It is RIGHT near the beach, ferry terminal, and bus station yet it feels private and quiet. We couldn’t believe how few people were staying here when we went. The rooms were super clean with really nice patios and the property itself was stunning with beautiful gardens and even a cenote. Breakfast was included with our room. This is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back.

Quiet, comfortable and clean. Great older hotel, well maintained, simple. Breakfast is provided, but it is kind of light. Also, not served before 8 am, if you need to get up early. Would definitely stay there again.

Arrive at hotel Nov 2 at 8pm exhausted, but our room was ready till after 10 pm. When we finally got to our room there was no hot water for a shower. We have spoken to guest experience and front desk and on day six we are still without hot water. On only one afternoon we managed a luke warm shower. When we tell them our dilemma they say they will do an investigation and on day 6 still nothing. We booked this hotel because we wanted the 5 star experience, sadly this is not happening.

There are so many hotels and other accommodations in Playa del Carmen that it’s hard to make a decision where to stay, especially when most places have mixed reviews at two extremes. Posada Sian Ka’an had more consistently better reviews than most, and the location and price was right so I chose it. Still, it was my first trip to Mexico so I didn’t know what to expect. I’m glad I followed my instincts. It was excellent — large, clean rooms, comfortable bedding, wide screen TV, balcony, refrigerator, etc The property itself is even better than how it appears in pictures — it has a large courtyard with a small, clean and well-lot pool, a seating area, beautiful landscaping, and a cenote (not swimmable). There is a place to refill your bottles with filtered water. I was told it is one of the older hotels in Playa del Carmen, but it does not look old at all and has clearly been well maintained. The manager, Jose, was so helpful and kind, and this makes such a difference when you are a solo traveler in an unfamiliar place. I would definitely stay here again. The other staff were excellent as well. One important thing to note - Playa del Carmen can be very noisy from late-night music, but because most of the building is set back from the nearby Fifth Avenue, it is fairly quiet - you can still hear some music but it’s much quieter than most other areas near Fifth Avenue.
