Best Western Plus les Terrasses de Brehat

We stayed here for one night on the final leg of a trip around Brittany, prior to catching the ferry home from St Malo the following evening and we wished we had arrived earlier than the check in time of 3pm as here is nothing else to do here but go to Ile de Brehat, it's literally the end of the coast road right opposite the ferry terminus , about five miles from Paimpol. As with everywhere in Brittany we were greeted by a huge smile at reception, from Anthony who spoke brilliant English having worked for ten years in Edinburgh - the bretons are so hospitable and friendly, The hotel was packed and the restaurant was forced to do two sittings, we chose the earlier sitting and felt quite sorry for the waiting staff who were obviously missing a few colleagues and were working their socks off. The food wasn't the best we have had in Brittany however that could have been down to staffing levels in the last week of August. We sat watching the queues of people snaking down to the half hourly ferries , there were literally thousands of them and on our return journey we passed a traffic queue about one mile long heading towards the one 600 space long stay car park . The breakfast at the hotel which cost 17 euros a head was pricey and not worth it, we ordered omelettes and were presented with two small side plates containing what looked like scrambled eggs. I would give it a miss and go into Paimpol for coffee and a croissant. The room price is good value however.

Booked a room with a view on the sea, facing the Brehat Island. The view is very nice and it’s fun to the see the magnitude of the tides. The room was very clean and clear, with all amenities needed. The breakfast is with very fresh bread, pastries, home made jam… The spa is also nice very clear due to large window and of good size, it’s also very clean. The location is perfect to go to Brehat over the day or take a hike to Paimpol along the coast, a very charming path.

Accueil téléphonique agréable lors de la réservation d une nuit On m’a indiqué que la chambre était mansardée MAIS on ne m a précisé que la salle de bain était aussi mansardée au niveau de la baignoire/douche. impossible de se doucher debout, douche à genoux dans la baignoire, pas pratique Chambre propre mise à part des taches sur le dessus de lit Connexion wifi de l hôtel indisponible dans notre chambre Spa en terrasse extérieure agréable Cadre agréable face mer mer et vue sur l île de Bréhat Tarif de la chambre élevé par rapport aux prestations proposées Décevant pour un 4 étoiles

A part la localisation et le sourire chaleureux de Maureen à la réception, rien ne mérite 4**** dans cet établissement vieillissant, dont l'entretien laisse à désirer et où la qualité du service est très moyenne (et la restauration plus que moyenne !!!). C'est plutôt un 3***.

Hôtel est bien situé en face de l’embarcadère à l’île de Bréhat, juste 10mn pour traverser. Les chambres ont de belles vues, beaucoup de rangements. Le sauna, jacuzzi sont sur la terrasse, ainsi les transats et les tables. Le point fort de cet hôtel est le service d’accueil, le petit déjeuner et le spa. Un grand merci au personnel du restaurant ainsi Mr Anthony à l’accueil de l’hôpital et Miss Nowenn aux soins avec de bons produits Algologie. Vous êtes tous formidables
