Kumari Star Inn

I stayed in this place for 25days and it was a wonderful stay. Despite of being in Kathmandu city this place is quiet and safer. The rooms are comfortable. The staffs are polite and helpful. Those who are looking for hotels near teaching hospital it is just 15mins walk from the hotel and there are local buses as well. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

Felt very at home here, like part of the family. Rooms are lovely and cosy. Food is delicious and they’ll even teach you how to make it. Rooftop is my favourite, great to watch the sunset. Felt very safe here. Location is good, 10min taxi ride from Thamel, 10min walk to TU teaching hospital. Great location for people doing exchange at the hospital. Staff are very hospitable, anything you need they can help you out with. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to family.

My friends and I came to Nepal for Linga Bhairavi Consecration with Sadhguru and this hotel happened to be just a few minutes by walk from the temple. What made the stay at the hotel really special was the owners and the staff. The way they treated us was touching to the core. I will never forget how Prem, his wife, Leela and all the others approached us - their devotion and heartfelt servitude left a profound imprint on me. I cannot put into words how much that meant to me. I wish all humanity would be as caring and loving as them. Thank you so much.

Recently I stayed at Hotel Kumari Inn for 10 weeks, from August to November while completing my medical elective in Nepal, and I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The hotel is run by Prem and his lovely family and staff, who were always so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure I was looked after, whether it was staying up to make sure that I got home safe at night or making me soothing food when I was sick. As a solo traveller, Prem was also always around to answer any questions or provide advice on where to go during festivals. The room was great, very spacious with a massive bed, a desk, a bathroom, and a small private porch. The Inn’s location is in Basundhara, which made for a nicer quieter stay, while still being only 15 minutes from the busy tourist areas that are easily accessible by Pathao. The Inn has the option for breakfast included, but will also provide diners in the evenings, which happened to be some of the best Nepalese food I ate during my entire trip, with extremely generous portions and good variety. Because of its location, I also met many other medical students who stayed here during my trip, which made for a lovely social environment. I would highly recommend the Hotel Kumari Inn to any medical students travelling to Nepal, for excellent accommodation with that added homey and personal touch. I will definitely be back in the future!

I recently had a four week stay at Hotel Kumari inn whilst completing a period of elective placement at TU Teaching Hospital Kathmandu. I had a wonderful stay and the Prem and all those who work at the hotel my time there extremely comfortable and very homely. The room was prefect and very spacious and the Inn’s location made for a quiet stay outside of the busy and noisy tourist district. Prem was always making sure we were well looked after, ensuring that if we were staying in for the evening that we would have dinner which was always delicious. Prem was also always around to help navigate the city and was key to my initial acclimatisation to the busy city of Kathmandu. I would recommend Kumari Inn to anyone who has an extended stay in Kathmandu and especially to any medical students doing electives at the teaching hospital.

I stayed at the Kumari inn for 8 weeks from March - May. I came to Nepal to do my medical elective at the teaching hospital which is close by. The hotel is well run by a very friendly and loving family. They provide a great breakfast in the morning and can also provide dinners in the evening. They helped to settle me in and told me how to get around the city. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Kathmandu in the future. It is perfect for any medical students. I will definitely return here when I travel again in the future.
