When we first arrived to Artharmony in Prague I thought the hostel was wonderful (besides the shared bathrooms, but I thought that was just me). Me and my family of five lived in the room called Fredirich and everything felt good until we went to bed, I had just taken of my lenses and put lotion all over my face when two of the family members discovered tens of bed bugs in their bed, since that’s when they are showing up. I never in my life thought I would experience bedbugs and certainly not in the beginning of our two weeks trip in Europe. To sum it up: we had to switch hotels in the middle of the night and we all panicked. We were afraid of bringing the bedbugs with us to the next hotel and terrified to not find any other place to stay. When speaking to the owner he first was truly sad in the beginning, but when talking to him more it truly just felt like acting. I got a feeling that he knew about this problem, because the room was crowded of them, but that could just be me. We got the money back (+50 dollar), but when bringing the keys back to the hostel he was in my opinion unpleasant and started talking manipulative about his leg and his old mum. It felt like he wanted us to feel sorry for him, and we were (of him and us) but that doesn’t make us not want the money back! He promised to hire a company to take care of the bedbugs, but please check the bedroom before - and especially the room called Freidrich. We ensured that we didn’t bring any bedbugs with us on our journey, but I still have 16 bedbugs bites on my body.
