Fantastic B&B. Room was great, bed very comfortable, coffee and tea making facilities, en suite with shower and towels. The breakfast was excellent - with choice of full Dartmoor, a veggie version of the full Dartmoor, other options as well as cereal, juice and tea/coffee. Richard and Caroline could not have been better hosts for our stay of 6 nights - and Princetown is well placed to discover the delights of Dartmoor.

Friendly hosts, clean and an excellent breakfast (perfect poached eggs) - good choice of breakfasts available. Brilliant to have parking on site. Rang to say I was going to be late due to traffic, wasn't an issue at all. Not that I was staying for cycling but I noticed that they cater for cyclists and walkers which is great.

Richard and Caroline are the perfect hosts - nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is well presented, comfortable and very clean; it has a real homely feel. I would highly recommend staying here when visiting Dartmoor - it's the ideal location.

We were in the King Tor room on the first floor for 5 nights. This overlooked the rear of the house. The bedroom was large and the bed great nice and comfortable. The en suite was a nice size with a large shower. The step up to the shower was a bit much. We are over 70 years. The breakfast room, on the ground floor, had a view over to a distant tor. The menu has wide ranging, for example 4 different varieties of porridge. As part of the Dartmoor breakfast was hogs pudding, my wife very much enjoyed the flavor. The hosts were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. We noticed that they had 2 bikes and helmets for hire for those younger than us.

We only stayed for 1 night, but will definitely come back if doing more walking or cycling in the area. We had a lovely chat to Caroline(one of the owners) after we finished our delicious breakfast (they accommodate for gluten free), they bought the place about 3 years ago and have done a lot of work, everything looks brand new and very tastefully decorated and was spotlessly clean. Caroline is very knowledgeable about the area and local walks. If only all bnb's were this friendly and nice. x

Very friendly & helpful hosts. Good value for money. Clean ,& comfortable room. Great breakfast, good quality produce used. Prime location for Dartmoor . We would definitely come back again and also recommend it to others. Many Thanks for a lovely stay.

We booked at the Duchy but were barely there. We needed to be in the area for a close relatives home-birth, but in the end we were needed from the outset. We eventually went to the Duchy on the last day, after checkout, and Caroline was incredibly sweet, making us breakfast and welcoming us to use the room to have a nap in before our onward journey home. Lovely place and lovely people. Highly recommended. ❤️

Great place to stay, me and my wife we really enjoyed staying at Duchy House. Amazing food, room was spotless. Very welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely come back and recommend this place.
