The views, hospitality, food, pool, restaurants, service, car park, and housekeeping were all outstanding. It is a marvel of building, every meal with a view of the incredible water, Etna, and the Town. We can’t wait to return. Can’t stop thinking about the place and the people who made it great.

We initially picked the hotel due to its proximity to Taormina as we were wanting to visit this part of Sicily and travel around using public transport. Initially, we were worried about the location of the hotel and the condition after reading other negative reviews. We found ourselves to be very pleasantly surprised by the reality. The hotel is situated on the side of a hill just outside the beautiful village of Sant Alessio Sicura. There is a train station in the village with direct links to Taormina, Catania, Messina and many more places. The walk from the train station takes approximately half an hour if you’re in relatively good fitness- it includes a walk up a main road but drivers were very considerate. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel but we found we preferred the efficiency of Sicily’s rail network. The resort itself is lovely. The decor is very traditional, and I can understand how some people may find that dated but we found it quite charming and lovely. We paid for a sea view room which I would recommend as it was wonderful to wake up to. Water is provided in the room free of charge and the facilities were clean, comfortable and quiet. The pool area was clean and well maintained, and the bar hosted a variety of drinks. Food in the restaurant was quite nice although a little expensive for what it was, we found ourselves eating out more often than not. Breakfast was a great selection of hot and cold options, and often we skipped lunch due to the sheer amount we ate at breakfast! Overall however we were really pleased with the general facilities of the area. The staff were all absolutely wonderful and couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our stay. In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend staying at Capo Dei Greci and would happily return if we were in this part of Sicily again. It is well located for day trips to other parts of the island and well facilitated if you want to spend the day on site. If you are fit and enjoy walking, it is easy to get around using public transport as we did. If not car hire is a good option but certainly not an essential.

The Good: #1. Incredible views if you have a balcony overlooking the Ocean #2. Close enough to Taormina by Car is only 15 minutes #3 Location is perfect for day trips to other towns like Savoca and other interesting towns. #4 easy access to the hotel from the main highway if you have a car The Bad: #1 Guest Rooms: Do not believe the photos published by Management, those are staged photos of a few renovated rooms to attract bookings. The real guest rooms are dated, antiquated, and in poor state of repair. Our room had missing baseboards, the floor of the bathroom was very uneven and missing tiles, the airconditing system was about 30 years old, the unit looked like a motel from the 1970s. The balcony sliding door could not be locked unless you shot down the shutters. Also , to access the room you need to go up multiple steps to get to your room, not senior friendly. #2 Rooms are badly equiped. The rooms do not even have a kettle to make coffee or Tea, there is no bucket for ice or an icemaker near the room, there are no glasses to drink water or wine ( THIS IS ITALY LAND OF WINE), the telefone to call in the front desk was dead, so in order to call in the front desk you have to use your cell phone ( for us that wa a long distance international call). One night I got trapped in the bathroom as the door got stuck and there was no way to call the from desk from the bathroom as there is no working telephone in the bathroom either. #3 Room service is terrible, they do not provide menus in the room, so you have to call the front desk. When you call ( from your cell phone) and you say you want to order room service they they hang up. When they do answer you to ask what do they have on the menu, instead of telling you what you have, they tell you they will email you the daily menu but they never do. You have to call multiple times to get someone to take your order. Also, times are limeted to a 2 hour window for Breakfast, 8-10, Lunch 12-2, and dinner 7-9. If you call 1 minut earlier or later they tell you it is impossible to order into the room. #4 Parking: they have limited parking spaces for a resort that is only accessible by car. Everynight you have to look for a place to park and have to ensure you park in a place someone else will not block your way out. Also the parking is far away from the bedroom and you have to go up steps to get to the room, the bedrooms are not very accessible from the parking areas. #5 The Attitude of the front desk was horrible. While we were there, there was a fire on a hill close to the hotel, The fire was visible from our balcony, so I called the receptionist to report the fire in case they were not aware of it, the answer I got was "The fire is not in our property so we cannot report it" I politely said if theres is a change of wind that fire could burn the whole resort, you should call the fire department for the safety of your guest. She said ok and hung up. There was one person that was ki

We traveled from NY, expecting to explore Sicily and have a good time at a beautiful Mediterranean beach but, unfortunately, due to the discrepancy in the description, we were unable to enjoy the experience. This is an old and outdated hotel completely off-grid, which shows it may have been luxurious in the 80's, but not more. Our room was so small, there was barely room for our luggage, and far from "deluxe" as described on the website. We requested to please be relocated and were told it would be an extra charge we refused and had to wait until the second day of five for a little bigger room but really basic. There are no restaurants nearby so, you are stuck, and your ONLY alternative is to have dinner at the Hotel's restaurant that ONLY offers a pre-set menu of 3 courses 7-9:00 PM. You can't walk anywhere, you either have to get an expensive taxi ($40 Euros to the next town, like 20 Mins away) or get a bus which doesn't run that frequently. We were forced to rent a scooter because it was the only way to move around. The pool has nice views of the Mediterranean Sea but the terrace's walls painting and floor looks careless and give a not so hygienic area impression. Our greatest drawback was the lack of direct access to the beach, The ONLY option is to use the hotel's shuttle service and you are FORCE to stay in a particular "Beach Club" that charges $30 Euros/day for two sunbeds and an umbrella, adding to the already expensive stay. On the positive, the staff are friendly, especially Giulia, in the guest relationship. and the old city of Taormina, that is a dream town.

Hotel Capo dei Greci is a mixed bag with its positive and negative aspects. One of the standout features of this hotel is the excellent food served in the restaurant. Guests can expect a pleasant dining experience with good service and a friendly touch. The service at the bar is also commendable, as the staff goes above and beyond to take care of their guests. The apartments at Capo dei Greci are spacious and kept in pristine condition, ensuring a comfortable stay. Moreover, the hotel boasts multiple pools, giving guests a variety of options to relax and enjoy the sun on their own sunbed. Additionally, the presence of a small gym allows fitness enthusiasts to maintain their exercise routine. Unfortunately, a major drawback of this hotel is the lack of direct access to the beach. Guests have the option to use a shuttle service provided by the hotel for a fee, which includes a sunbed at the beach. This inconvenience is further compounded by the fact that the hotel is located quite off the grid, making it necessary to have a car for convenient transportation. The hotel claims to offer entertainment options, but guests have reported that this aspect is lacking. The young staff responsible for handling entertainment is not proactive in informing guests about activities, leaving visitors disappointed. Furthermore, the overall internet and mobile access at the hotel are unreliable, making it unsuitable for business travelers who require a stable connection for work purposes. It should be noted that the all-inclusive package offered by the hotel does not include water, coffee, and cocktails, which is different from the practice in other countries. Instead, only soft drinks, wine, and beer are provided during lunch and dinner. Overall, Hotel Capo dei Greci has its strengths, such as its restaurant, service, and apartment cleanliness. However, the lack of direct beach access, inadequate entertainment options, and unreliable internet and mobile access are definite drawbacks. Consider these factors before making a decision, especially if you require a stable internet connection or expect comprehensive all-inclusive offerings.
