Barricata Holiday Village

Overall it was a nice experience. We arrived at the last week of the season and the camping was quite empty by that time. The staff was still very helpful and nice to us. The small shop in the camping site was half empty though but we could get the essentials. Although there were some issues that we were not happy about. The place is very far from everything. We needed to go to a proper shop to buy food and stuff and we needed to take a half an hour ride to the store. The amounts of flies and mosquitos very horrendous. They can’t seem to get rid of them I assume but why not provide fly traps to each home maybe …?

Good but not 5 starts Biggest plus - POOL AREA - we travelled in 2023 when New splash park was added making massive difference - can say best pool for kids and young teenagers with great water temperature. - Amazing place if you would like to try glamping. - Stable with very rare opportunity to try horse ridding at the beach, amazing staff working there. - Great staff at the pool bar with nice pizza Biggest minus - Mosquitos - they make it IMPOSSIBLE to visit the beach during the sunset, whole campsite is quiet badly affected by them as well as the pool area from round 5/6pm. We used Jungle formula strength 4 and it protected us from being bitten but still could see clouds of them flying round us. - Only one shop with very limited stock and high prices (other shop Alli - about 25 minutes drive in small town ) plus one restaurant for evening meal with small portion of French fries costing 5 euro. - Entertainment was very limited, maybe because the season just stared, but seen more amazing performances in Camping Marina di Venezia at the same time last year - Campsite is beautiful with natural beauty but next to our house was uncovered field with overflowing rubbish coming out of the bins, old pool furniture, pipes etc... which spoiled the experience, and not something you would expect to find in 5 star resort The campsite is in the middle of the Nature park so if you like peace and quiet for 7 days it is amazing but if you like to visit places and do some sightseeing during your holiday probably it is not the place for you as closest place to visit is about 1hr 40 min away , like Venice or Padua...

Good swimming facilities and accommodations are pretty good. The biggest issue with this place is people claiming their sunbeds when the pool opens and then not even staying at the pool. That's our main reason for not returning here. Also it's in the middle of nowhere, so nothing much to do in the area.

the staff barely speak English the security staff unrespectful the don't understand the children needs i had two problems with the security staff when i report it to the reception staff they were carless and told me go and leave bad review not children friendly place and not recommended at all

A nice place to stay with your family.

Nice swimming pools, good restaurants. Shows and staff was good and sportief. The activities they give where very professional. The rooms in the apartment can have a lik of verf. But the holiday was very good.

We have stayed at Barricata on two occasions now, first time was a week in 2019 and the second was two weeks this year (2021). The holiday village is located out in the middle of nowhere with around 22 km to the nearest real supermarket (Ali), so probably because of the lack of competition, the prices on grocery at the Holiday village shop, is about 30% over average prices. And for the 2021 season, the meat and cheese counter, where they normally had people servicing their customers with freshly cut ham and cheese etc. had been shut down, leaving customers with cold cuts packages, which in my opinion is a huge loss. And for some reason the shop does not sell ice cubes, which you wold expect from a five star holiday village. That being said, the pool area is nice and perfect for children, where they are also allowed to bring their floaties to one of the pools. We never had problems getting a sun bed, regardless of the time of day. However the pool bar is quite expensive and they do not have any TV for showing events like Tour de France, Formula 1 etc. which some of us really enjoy to watch with a cold beer in the afternoon. We witnessed a situation where a kid diving in the pool found some baby sized poo and told his parents, who then quickly ran to inform the nearby lifeguard. However, the lifeguard didn’t react at first, he just sat there looking at his smartphone like he did all day, with almost no attention to the guests. It was only 10 minutes later when a woman lost her patience with the guy and questioned the incident that he actually reacted, but at that time the huge pool was still full of people bathing and the poop now spread in the water over a larger area. The lifeguard now arrived with a colleague and started walking around the pool to assess the situation and ended up removing the poop they could locate. They then just disappeared without doing anything further and at no time whatsoever, had they asked people to leave the pool. This is definitely not acceptable and they should have closed the pool immediately, when the first person made them aware of the incident. There must be a clear procedure on stuff like this, this is peoples health we’re talking about !!! The beach is very nice and not to crowded, so no matter when you arrive, it is possible to get a spot in the front row to the sea. The beach itself is very flat, so you need to walk 50 meters before it starts to get deeper, which is perfect for kids and water games. There is only WiFi available in the pool area, but the LTE coverage is excellent and a prepaid Data SIM card can be purchased in the village Ca’tiepolo where an Ali supermarket is also located. I measured 150 Mbps with our WindTre 4G+ connection, so our three kids had no problems streaming to there iPads. Finally I have to address the amount of mosquitoes, which is a massive plague because they are extremely aggressive and attacks at any time of day, even in the sun. Villaggio disordinato odore del depuratore dietro le case e isole ecologiche al centro del villaggio sotto al sole tutto il giorno quindi si respira dei odori orribili, ristorante davvero pessimo cibo che forse manco al mio cane darei ora capisco perché al ristorante non ci mangiava mai nessuno e si preferiva cucinare nella propria stanza lo sconsiglio a tutti ci sono molti villaggi migliori di questo

Il camping è veramente al top. Un campeggio pulito e organizzato al meglio. Le mobil home (noi abbiamo preso Bellagio Small) è davvero bella, confrotevole e dotata anche di tende da balcone davanti alla veranda. Abbiamo trovato un po di zanzare ma non da star male, anzi dopo la disinfestazione addirittura nulla... tutti i servzi sono a portata di mano, market, piscine, spiaggia, reception, campi da padel e calcetto...bar pizzeria. Lo consiglio a chi come me ha viaggiato con la famgigli e amici (noi eravamo 4 coppie di amici, tutti con due figli a testa dai 4 ai10 anni) e abbiamo avuto la fortuna di avere le casette vicine. Il mare non è il massimo... ma per i bambini va benissimo!
