Portomar Apartments

We are a family group consisting of two young couples with one toddler and one 4 month old baby and the kid's grandma. We stayed in the three bedroom apar**ent which was exactly what we were looking for. It was beautifully presented and has the best views in the whole apart hotel looking over the cove with a massive private balcony. The apar**ent has a very big footprint too giving us plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen is super useful for doing bottles as it has a microwave and kettle, as well as a washing machine and dryer which we weren't expecting but we're super useful to have. The kitchen could do with more utensils and trays but you could cook basic meals there. There is also a dishwasher. The configuration of the three bed is two bedrooms with ensuites and an additional room with double bed. We didn't mind sharing a bathroom but it did make it a bit awkward throughout the night. The aparthotel in general is lovely and the decor and vibe made our stay very pleasant. The food and breakfast has been of a really high standard and fantastic value for money (including all areas of the hotel with the restaurant out the back and the pool bar). It was very easy to get a sunbed in May and again, they were very comfortable and of a high standard. The pool isnt heated so we couldn't really use it when the weather was poor as it was just too cold, but on the days we had good weather it was pleasant enough. The hotel on a whole is very family friendly without having animation etc. There are a few tourist type shops around that sell basics but we did need to go to the Eroski a few times to stock up. The beach (Cala Marcal) was about a 5/10 min walk away and there is pram accessibility and toilets. The beach has a fantastic cafe/bar with covered seating area. The sand is gorgeous white and the sea incredibly turquoise blue, with lifeguards keeping an eye on things. A stroll to the restaurants in Portocolom was about 10/15 mins and not particularly difficult. The only downside to this hotel is the area. Whilst the location is fantastic (slap bang in the middle of both portocolom and cala Marcal beach), the street scene and general vibe in the area is very grubby (lots of dog poo etc). The owner of Portomar should transform the whole resort locality because his hotel sits like a rose amongst a bed of thorns at the moment! Can't believe we found this gem really and we have had such a good time staying here that we may just return!

Perfect location at the seafront. Super nice staff who is always smiling and asking if there is anything they can do for you. Gym is ok. Sunbeds are comfortable. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is very good at an okay price.

Portomar apar**ents surprises us in a good way. The gym and spa facilities were great, well kept and just what we needed when the weather was a bit cloudy! The pool area and outside bar was great. Good pool furniture, good sized pool, well stocked bar and restaurant and attentive staff. The views over the bay and see were beautiful, saw both the calm sea and a rough sea and both we say and watched for a long period of time. It was calming! The rooms/apar**ents were clean, relatively simple and well sized. They’ve decorated the whole place really tastefully. Would recommend as a couples trip or family!

Rooms not as advertised and no way to cancel or speak to owner. Room advertised as sea view. Judge for yourself. Tried to at least have a discussion about options and to change the advertisement for the future but no luck as no contact number was provided for owner. Otherwise hotels look good.

We stayed 3 nights here in an apt. with seaview. The view is great! We paid 241 euros per night. We were met by a welcoming letter with wrong name. Curtains were broken, beds were very hard . Screaming kids at breakfast and by pool in the afternoon and evening, so if you are looking for a quiet holiday this is NOT the place. We had breakfast and lunch - both were ok but nothing special . Staff is very helpful and friendly We have stayed at other hotels in mallorca where we paid less but with a much higher standard.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Portomar Apar**ents in Portocolom and already would love to return. The rooms are as immaculate as they look on the website and we stayed in the 3 bedroom apar**ent which was idyllic. The aparthotel is nestled in a cove in Portocolom, just a short 10/15 walk from the harbour where there are many restaurants and cafes. There are also plenty of restaurants overlooking the beach that are even closer to the hotel. The hotel had everything we needed especially as we were travelling with a baby which made it easier for others first holiday abroad. The area of Portocolom is fairly quiet and relaxed and there is a lovely beach just a short walk from the hotel called Cala Marsal. The only downside would be there weren’t enough kitchen utensils and trays etc to cook so we ate out a lot which made things a little more expensive but we didn’t mind. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends as overall it was a really pleasant holiday and the staff were all so lovely too!

Can’t really complain about this place.. I read the reviews and was like oh no what have we done but to be honest it’s been okay.. Gabriel on the desk was lovely and couldn’t do enough to help us. The rooms were basic but clean.. you get what you pay for though! You are allowed to make noise until about 11 which is reasonable as there are families here, the guy on the pool bar was a bit miserable. The location is good for the beach and shops etc, overall it was alright

We really enjoyed our stay here. The decor was stunning. Easy to get sunbeds during the day. Breakfast has great selection with plenty of healthy options. Oat & soya milk too! The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Spa very relaxing place to spend some time in. The rooms have cooking facilities if you didn't want to east out. Nearby restaurants were nice but I would recommend walking to Portocolom as the restaurants are great and on the water front. I was only disappointed in not having body wash and lotion for the duration of my trip. I asked at reception if we could have 1 more tiny bottle but told they were a gift and don't supply anymore. During our stay we were encouraged to use the same pool towels and they tend to run out so we used the same towels for the 5 days. They have the most beautiful cove with a ladder down to the sea where you can snorkel. It was a really special hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful serviced apar**ents with a great pool area, a gym, and a spa. The apar**ent has everything that you need for the stay. Also you can swim in the bay which is accessible via a ladder. The staff was always super friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is rather quiet but with a car it is a good start to explore lovely bays. I would come again, especially with kids.
