Wasai Puerto Maldonado Eco Lodge

Staying at the Wasai Hotel was a delightfully down-to-earth and relaxing experience, set against the backdrop of a serene river. I thoroughly enjoyed dining at their on-site restaurant and savoring cocktails by the poolside, all while soaking in the tranquil views. The staff went above and beyond, arranging taxis to the airport and helping us book tours effortlessly from the hotel. With comfortable rooms it offers nice river views and is great value for the price.

Stayed at Wasai lodge for one night following a tour in the Amazon. Loved the layout - still in nature but clean, mosquito-proof rooms and the pool was lovely. Special thanks to Milagros Rojas on reception who very kindly took our postcards for us and promised to post them, as everywhere was shut on Sundays. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed from April 5 to 15. Great location with direct access to Madre De Dios river. The room was very comfortable and clean with AC & WiFi. The staff from the activity coordinator, Fiorella, to front desk, Stick, to the field guide, Jair, were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Wasai if you are staying in Puerto Maldonado.

After your jungle adventure, the hotel is the perfect place to relax and unwind before continuing your journey. the rooms have everything you need, the food is good. There is a swimming pool, good drinks, laundry. For breakfast you can try local delicacies and delicious juices. Enjoyable stay.

Absolute scam. My reservation and room included NOTHING that was advertised. No complimentary breakfast, no amenities and conveniences. The check-in process was a mess when I first arrived. My room was dirty, unfinished and smelled of feces. It looks like someone carved a square in the wall and threw a bed inside. Not to mention the gaps in the door that let in bugs. My first day here I stayed in Puerto Amazonico, a two-star hotel, and had a WONDERFUL stay. I thought I was upgrading to a three-star hotel and it was a huge disappointment. Puerto Amazonico is a beautiful hotel with lovely people, great amenities (air conditioning) and awesome services. The continental breakfast was delicious. I will be giving them my business from here on out. Do not stay at Wasai. It is a scam.

I stayed three nights here. I need to clarify that this review is for hostel side of this hotel. The place is clean, well kept and the staff is very polite. The room was all the way down close to river; the quite a few stairs to go up and down The room was very basic: a fan, shampoo and soup. Pros: Clean, easy access to a pool and bar, one block from Plaza de Armas, great view of river, bridge and nicely decorated lobby area. Cons: no A/C, no real privacy because the wall facing the outside is made from mosquito mesh and wood frame and the curtains are not big enough to cover or stop anyone from looking in. We also two frogs came in to bathroom area. That's probably expected because that seems to be how the rooms are designed; they want to keep the airflow; so that room does not get too hot, plus is right by the river. I would come back and try the standard rooms.

We stayed here for 1 night before leaving Peru after nearly a month touring around. Wasaii Hotel is located right by the Madre de Dios river & is in what is probably the best part of Puerto Maldonado with the attractive Central Plaza very near with the streets nearby containing restaurants & shops. The Hotel is quite sprawling with a very nice reception area off the street & a Cafe / restaurant , too where you will be served your breakfast. There is a Warren of quaint looking rooms connected by wooden walkways & stairs , a pool & past here you descend on wooden steps to the river. A modern accommodation block stands to the side. This is on several floors & accessed by metal stairways. We stayed here & I thought my room was excellent - clean , twin bedded , t v. plenty of electric points, lovely bathroom & a good view of trees & the river. People who have any mobility issues may find all the stairs & different walkways daunting but I noted staff were happy to shift luggage for those who might find it a problem. The staff were efficient & pleasant. Good internet in the reception area. Breakfast could have been a bit better , for me at least, being vegan but the fresh fruit juices were fantastic. We had arranged for a visit to a ( fairly ) near by Clay lick on the river for which we had to leave at first light. The parrots & macaws fly in from the opposite side of the river & although we were delighted to see the blue headed macaws who don't stay long I felt the boat could have been handled better. i e. too much engine revving.

We just spent a couple nights at the Wasai Lodge and wish we stayed longer! The accommodation is great, an interesting layout with connecting paths where we saw Sloaths every day in the trees! The food was brilliant. The staff and managment were fautless, who also arranged some great excursions for us, all booked easily with good communication. Our room was super comfortable, very clean and amazing view!

We stayed at this hotel for one night after our jungle tour at Wasai Tambopata Lodge. This hotel was really perfect for us. We had rooms on the top floor and had really beautiful views of the river. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. It is close to everything in town and the staff were very helpful when we needed transportation to the airport. Plus you can see a sloth right at the hotel!
