We stayed two nights in Hotel Aldea Pura Vida in Puntarenas city. It’s in good location but that’s almost only thing I was content. The room was not like in the photos. No windows, really strong smell of washing agent and cockroaches in the room. Only cold water from the shower. I can’t recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy their hotel.

This hotel is across from the beach and free breakfast included, however bathrooms in poor shape and beds uncomfortable with only one sheet to sleep with. Hostess was kind and helped with parking. We came after dark and couldn’t find a parking spot close by. We felt like we were an inconvenience at the restaurant for breakfast but the food was good.

They clean the rooms and surrounding areas with undiluted pledge which gives the smell of harsh varnish that permeated the room for the two nights. One faucet for shower and sink with water that is hardly warmer than room temperature. Although the room was clean. The quality of said room was subpar. Poor quality for the $50usd a night. Far too expensive. A makeshift door for the bathroom for instance. Very thin sheets. Two pillows, two towels. The toilet hardly flushed and got clogged (toilet paper was never placed in toilet). Pro? It was near the water.
