Hotel Pushkar Palace

What a great hotel in a perfect location in the middle of Pushkar. Well priced and really nice heritage rooms. Fantastic service all round from the quick check in, to the restaurant and room cleaning. A short walk to all the market shops and restaurants with the bustle of a true Indian bazaar. The views from the hotel terraces in front of the rooms are great looking across the lake. The new lower terrace in front of the restaurant also had beautiful tables and sun galore. It’s also very pretty at night. The recent upgrades since our last visit have made this an even better place to stay.

It’s a no-BS heritage hotel with basic facilities and an awesome location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We booked the top category room and didn’t regret. The only disappoin**ent was the loud AC which would make sleeping difficult. The hotel should invest on new ACs and heaters to attract more guests and better reviews. The breakfast is average too. Very basic food and no variety. Please improvise on that.

Comfortable room. Breakfast and dinner adequate. Massage at the spa was disappointing and overpriced. Good location, able to walk to the market at night. Cold at night and no extra blanket, had to fold the doona in half. I don't know if the airconditioner was reverse cycle as there were wires hanging out of it so didn't turn it on.

We were Booked into the PP for 2 nights as part of a tailor made tour of India. The location is great but that is all this hotel has going for it. Initially given a standard room which was badly in need of an refurbishment. We complained and we were upgraded to the Maharaja Suite. The suite is exactly the same as a standard room just larger floor area. The room was very shabby and not very clean. The curtains are just old as was the frills around the four poster bed. The room itself badly needs to be refurbished. Now I get the meaning of’ traditional “ in describing the room but this was not traditional, basic would of been a compliment. it was dark, not clean, shabby. The pillows were covered in sweat stains. The air con unit was filthy. Hadn’t been cleaned in years. The bathroom was the worst. Dirty tiles and bathroom, toilet seat was stained. The cup holder supposedly to put your toothbrush in was gross. God knows why filthy sponges are provided for guests to use. The bin was the rightful place for them. I could go on but I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves. Tried to check out the very day we arrived as there was no way we were going to sleep in the room. Unfortunately due to 28 weddings being held in the village every hotel was booked. Had a horrible experience having to sleep in the room for the night. Checked out first thing in the morning and moved to the Westin Hotel. If the PP is classed as one of the best hotels in Pushkar, I dread to think what the worst would be like. Horrible horrible place.

This is an amazing hotel with opulent antique decor, a gorgeous four poster bed (you need a step to climb up on it, well, I did as I’m short) a large bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and a safe. Plus a gorgeous armoire I’d love to keep. The key locks, very old fashioned just added to its charm. The gardens and pool area was gorgeous too. Plus we had a really nice fellow selling great souvenirs and jewellery out front early in the morning and late in the afternoons. Not pushy either. The meals in the dining room were delicious too. Thankyou for making our stay in Pushkar so special.

This heritage hotel is in an excellent location next to the lake but it is a hotel that is definitely in need of a refurbishment. I am all for heritage charm but this did feel a bit tired. The bath mat and shower curtain were both stained which in themselves are not a huge issue but a reflection of the ‘tired’ nature of the decor. The service was good but just didn’t feel as professional as in other hotels. So in summary great location but in need of an upgrade.

Pushkar is centered around the lake, so the location of the Palace - right on and overlooking the lake - could not be better. But it is a "heritage hotel", desperately needing maintenance, renovation and staff training. Although we had paid for a suite with lake view, we were given a downstairs room. After complaining, we were moved to the 2nd floor to rm 304 ; better, because the terrace has great views over the lake and its ghats. The room is large and has a small side room, which is handy to store some luggage. The poster bed is high and very (no, VERY) hard. TV only has Indian channels and wifi is weak. The bathroom was unpleasant : broken, stained toilet seat, towels rough and grey, bath unstable, rainshower too low, mouldy grout between the tiles. Breakfast and dinner are basic and very Indian : all vegetarian and very limited choice. Pushkar is a dry city, so no alcohol. The balcony outside of the restaurant is a splendid spot for breakfast : great spot to watch Pushkar come to life in the early morning sun with a cup of tea. Hotel Pushkar Palace has tremendous potential, but I found its biggest drawback to be the poor standard of staff service ; it seemed to be all and only about the tips.

The worst experience of our touring life. First the hotel does not have a parking of there own or near there hotel, we faced difficulty in parking and harassment for getting luggage from vehicle parked at parking of another hotel. We were with our three year kid and faced difficulty in staying here. The staff has attitude problem with Indian guest, specially the front desk, there behavior is altogether different for foreign tourist. They only see foreigner as there client Indians they thinks are not tourist and all are from Delhi for hollad bazzi. The workers hired are local people, which is good but they must be trained for hotel purpose at least basic things,they don't know which is milk pouch.

What a nice surprise. We read ***y advice and we fear to be disappointed. And not. The location of the hotel allow you to have a great view on the lake and assists to ceremony of Hindou temple at the gath. Sure at sunrise you can be awaken by the loud ceremony. But this is a chance to assist. Rooms are frozen in time, but again this is a chance (not beautifull but nice). Exterior balcony are incredibles Breakfast is acceptable.
