Worst experience ever. My family and I came here in December and when we got there they gave us a room that was next to a room that was completely under construction. Tools everywhere, and workers walking back and forth all day, the pool was no where near ready for use, oh and our “ocean view” was covered by a building being built. Absolutely unexceptionable. We stayed here one night and then realized how disgusting the rooms were kept, not to mention we had no water to shower after an almost 16 hour day of traveling, so then went to management and politely explained our situation and asked for a refund for the remaining nights that we would not be staying there, as we planned on moving down to Shana at the Beach, (which was the BEST decision, highly recommend) & they told us they couldn’t give us our money back. We have reached out to higher management about the situation and a month later we are still trying to get our money back for something we didn't use. If you and your family or friends are trying to have a relaxing, fun, and clean place to stay. DON’T DO IT HERE!!!

This hotel almost ruined our vacation! Completely under construction and not ready for guests. Hotel changed names 3 times from the time I booked until the time I checked in. The day before I arrived I received an email that the pool was down due to inclement weather. The pool was under full construction and no where ready for guests. No hot water when we arrived and no water at all the next morning. I paid over $4k for 2 rooms for 10 days. We only stayed 1 night! The owner refuses to give any money back on this reservation. Shady business practices. We went down the road to Shana by the beach and were treated like royalty PLUS it was cheaper! I have never met or spoken with the manager despite repeated requests. I was only allowed to communicate through the front desk. Very shady. Do not stay here.

I would certainly not recommend staying at this hotel. We booked a trip there in December 2024 and were never informed they are completely under construction. We got there to find our beach view room being blocked by a private home being built directly in front of it. There was no hot water and the elevator didn’t work. There were construction workers carrying concrete and tools and working right next to our room the one night we stayed. The back “patio” area wasn’t cleaned and very inviting. Awful experience. We stayed one night and checked out and went and stayed at Shana by the Beach right up the road. Shana was excellent and definitely recommend staying there instead of Layan or Blue mirador or whatever it’s called now. It’s changed names 3 times in the last year alone. Also, the owner refused to give us our money back although we stayed one night and left because the conditions there weren’t what you spend all that money to vacation to. Absolutely TERRIBLE experience.

I visited this hotel with my family and we were very happy. the service from the staff was over and beyond. They are under going renovations that look amazing and they were still able to make sure we were taken care of! the food at the restuarant was perfect everytime we ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner! coctails were amzing as well. This hotel has an amazing view from al,ost every angle of the property. I highy suggest visiting Layan Hotel when visiting Manuel Antonio.

This is a lovely hotel with nice, large, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The roof pool is nice and the barkeep there is great. The views are stunning. Breakfast is served at a neighboring property down the hill a bit (walkable) and was easily the best breakfast we had on the trip.

The hotel has THE BEST VIEW but the installations are a bit old and when we arrived we were told that they were remodeling therefore we could not use the pool and restaurant. The hotel did resolve on that by giving us access to the hotel next door but I wish I was told about this in advance. The staff was nice and very friendly.

This hotel was nice but way too far. The staff was really nice. The name of the hotel was changed and we were not notified of the change so we got lost for a bit. Luckily we asked another hotel where our hotel was and it happened to be their sister hotel so we were immediately assisted.

This hotel has changed to become the Blue Miramar hotel, but fails to inform guests. Further, the hotel is apparently undergoing some mild refreshening, but it it FAR from complete. Our "premium" room in the form of a "Penthouse" was not updated, had fixtures falling from the walls, had air conditioning that barely functioned, and was generally in poor condition. Absolutely cannot recommend this hotel as they are not transparent about who they are or what kind of room you are going to get, even when you put down an unreasonably high price for a hotel in this condition. The two stars given are for the views, which are excellent, and the staff, which is as good as they can be given the accommodations that they are compelled to put you in.

WARNING!!!!! If you are a planner, DO NOT book this place on ***********! I am a mega planner! This was a special birthday trip for myself with my family and two kids. I made the reservations in September for February. And they were sketchy to begin with. They said they needed me to input my credit card again . It was successful 6 months earlier. So a credit card that has no reason it wouldn’t work! I received a message that the credit card was updated successfully and the hotel cancelled on me two days before my reservation! Not worth the hassle. They were difficult to reach but even more difficult when I have limited internet access in Costa Rica! They also made me hate ***********. They blamed *********** but I’m pretty sure that’s a farce. Ruined two perfectly good vacation days trying to figure out how to get a room. They said they would find me a comparable place. If it’s true, I will revise this review, if not, I’ll come back again and also message *********** when I get home to figure out who the actual service responsible is. And update you. In the meantime, do NOT book this place. Absolutely NOT! Super shady!!! Don’t ruin your vacation. It’s the opposite of Pura Vida and in fact is ruining my Costa Rica experience.
