House Higgo

Pristine gardens and top notch privacy and security . I can highly recommend the elegant Higgo House to traveler’s wanting a luxurious stay. Rooms are well designed and plush with everything you need and more. The hostess - Martha was attentive to our requirements and communication with the establishment was excellent. Well worth a second visit!

This place looked great online and was in a higher price bracket than most in the area, but we thought we'd spoil ourselves. It really is a nice building with interesting mix of antique and more modern decor items. We were in the St Ives (Honeymoon Suite) room and it did have a luxury feel. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed with the sign on the bath wall (see pic). Often we take the opportunity to use the bath when we go away but apparently there is a water shortage (we live locally and know its rained a lot this summer so... yeah not really) and so the plug had been removed. Fair enough if there is a water shortage but why then have pictures of the baths in the rooms all over ***********? The breakfast was nice but again we weren't too impressed that not only did we have to help ourselves to coffee (not the end of the world but little things like this make a big difference), but the coffee was just instant sachets and hot water. For a 'posh' boutique hotel this was really surprising. When I asked if we could have fruit with our cooked breakfast we were told by their lovely staff member Martha (she was lovely and helpful) that it would be an additional cost. Again I feel its little things like this that make you not want to go back somewhere. In addition the no hot water in the bathroom sink, the gate intercom that didn't work, and the small scratchy towels just didn't help. I'm not one for complaining so these points are really just feedback for you to consider to make others stays more enjoyable and bring the standard up to the standard of a boutique property.

The cottage Accomodation was disappointing. The pictures on the website and the 4 star rating which I based my reservation on did not match. We checked in very late and expected to be shown to our room immediately but had to wait because the room wasn’t ready, no towels and pillow cases, pillows were filthy, no plugs provided to charge cellphones, just one plug behind the entertainment unit. Furniture was filthy, checked out a day early. The rest of the establishments that we were exposed to looked good which was made us feel even more disappointment, didn’t seem like they have given the cottage the same attention as the rest of the establishment. Martha was wonderful, she tried to help as much as she possibly could, especially given that it was her day off and the person who was supposed to prepare our room and receive had gone home early.

This is a beautiful Boutique Guesthouse with great views and magnificent gardens and recreation areas. The Executive room was lovely | spacious and comfortable with unique decor. The service was great and the breakfast was really good. House Higgo is ideally situation in Randburg and the guesthouse is surrounded by pristine and beautiful gardens. A perfect venue for events | functions or special occasions. I highly recommend this beautiful boutique guesthouse.

We loved our stay😊our cottage was clean,fresh and comfortable. The staff was efficient and accommodating.Very friendly staff,good service,would definitely return for future holiday stay and recommend to friends and family!

What an amazing place. I would definitely recommend this place and visit again. Jus a let down that the pool was green and the jaccuzzi did not work. Room was absolutely amazing, luxury and clean. We had sparking wine that just made the evening.
