Having read previous reviews I can only comment on our experience. I would have given 5 stars except for two things, 1. The lack of entertainment (there was a sax and trumpet player one night and background music every other). We personally felt it would have been nice for some Greek music and entertainment). 2. The food although really nice and varied, wasn't always hot, but this is difficult with so many to feed during a long breakfast/dinner timetable - tip, wait until the waitresses refill the food trays! Besides this, we had no complaints about this hotel and had a wonderful time. Reading previous reviews, I would comment that we were never ignored by the staff/waitresses, on the contrary they were most attentive, as soon as you finished your meal the waitresses were there clearing the plates. I want to particularly mention Mira, who served us most of the time, she was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Not sure about the drinks prices being double the usual price, as we found the prices the same wherever we went on the island, around 3.50 to 4 euros, which isn't much different to the UK, taking into account the exchange rate. As for the long walk to civilisation, we knew this before we booked as we did our research. We wanted a quiet resort where we could walk and that's what it is! If research is done, people know what they are going to get. As far as the food being the same, I strongly disagree. There was such a varied buffet selection. We were there for 10 days and you could eat differently most days. Although the breakfast selection was mostly the same, it was a really wide selection anyway. The 4 euros a night room tax is also mentioned before you book (isn't this the same all over Greece)? We never had to wait for our cases to be taken to the room. As soon as we booked in, the receptionist called the porter, who took us and the cases to our room on his buggy, and even took them up to our first floor room. You are told on the hotel website before you book that kettles are available on request, so I wasn't surprised there wasn't one in the room (we took a travel kettle) We found all staff to be friendly, including the German and the Greek lady on reception, and the lady cooking the omelettes etc at breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a balcony. Nice bathroom and comfy bed too. The hotel was nicely decorated. The pool was good, and not overly busy. The pool bar was staffed by very friendly ladies, and the club sandwiches they serve are a must! It was a very short walk to the beach of sand and shingle. Sun loungers/parasols were 10 to 12 Euros for the day, which is slightly expensive. We fell in love with the bar by the beach, Sundalia By The Beach, it was lovely. All in all, a great holiday, but remember, as here, everything has gone up in price, but considering there has been a pandemic, they have to recoup their losses as best they can.
