In addition, much of the excitement takes place in giant malls such as BarraShopping, with cinemas, trendy clubs, gourmet cafes and bowling alleys. The region of Barra da Tijuca, Recreio dos Bandeirantes and its surroundings only started to be more inhabited around the 80s and 90s, so you still find there many areas of environmental reserve and so beautiful corners that it is hard to believe that you have not left the “city of beauty and chaos ”.
