Had a fabulous Christmas and New Year at the Soco House. The staff are incredibly friendly and really cannot do enough to help. The rooms are cleaned daily and new towels are provided. All rooms are pool facing. We spoke to one couple who were told by their travel agent in the UK that they had to pay extra for a pool facing view. Luckily, they did not pay it. The location is ideal. Less than 5 minutes to the beach and around 10 minutes to walk into the Rodney Bay bar / restaurant area. The entertainment put on for New Years Eve was excellent and serving Lobster for dinner was a bonus. The only downfall we can raise really is the lack of communication in the kitchen. My wife is Wheat intolerant, and it can cause an anaphylactic shock. Just a couple of weeks prior to travelling she had a cardiac arrest. We filled out a form on the front desk about the allergy when we arrived and told the front of house reception along with the restaurant front of house, but this was never communicated to the chef and so for the first week we were given food containing wheat even though the staff were told about the allergy. Managed to resolve though by speaking to Edmund the General Manager. Edmund immediately called over the chef and the Chef was more than accommodating for us. He took our dinner orders in the morning during breakfast and did a special meal for the rest of our stay. I have read many mixed reviews of this place, and our experience was overall very positive. Waiting times for meals were generally up to 10 minutes. there was one day where the kitchen had a staff shortage, and we waited 45 minutes for breakfast but we were in no rush so didn't mind. All of the staff were very friendly and always willing to stop for a chat. The sunbeds on the beach are a bit tired but if you ask nicely Val will let you use the nicer beds she reserves for tourists. A word of warning about the beach, you will get a lot of mither from the locals. The licensed vendors are fine but then you get the strays trying to sell you ***** / beer / coconuts / grass hats / mangoes / cocktails.....its none stop. you also get them asking for beer, food & money. You tell them know but within half an hour they return and try again. We have no reservation in recommending the Soco house. Also due to plane issues lots of people were being sent to the Soco house from the airport as their flight had been cancelled and the hotel, they were staying in was fully booked. Everyone we spoke to said that the Soco house was better than the hotel they had come from. We left the hotel with lots of new friends & great memories. The other guests and staff were all wonderful.

This is a small and friendly hotel just 5 minutes walk from the beach where you can access free sun beds there. The staff here are so friendly and the service (although sometimes slow in the restaurant) never bothered us. We were on holiday so never ones to rush. Even though we never complained about the wait, we were often apologised to. The food is worth waiting for and we enjoyed dining a la carte as opposed to buffet. Enjoyed everything we ate so much. Especially the curries. The rooms and main areas are always clean and tidy. It’s in a great location, 2 minutes walk from the nearest bar, 5 minutes walk from Spinnakers and lots of other bars and restaurants as well as the town centre with shops in under 10 minutes walk. The walk is safe and locals will say morning to you as you pass them. We had the loveliest time and it was totally down to the staff, the food and the location.

Just returned from 10 days at the hotel and what a breath of fresh air to be in the company of such a happy team of management and staff. The location is perfect with a beach just 8 minutes away. The rooms are clean and the water pressure and sanitation is good. The food is varied and of good quality and contrary to others who complain about the speed of serving it is really ok.Why do people moan so much? The serving is a bit like Come Dancing slow slow quick quick slow...... Don't expect the Ritz but it is served A la carte and is better than most other Hotels we have been to. Food alergies are dealt with really well and gluten free options are readily available. The all inclusive package is good value and be aware the alcoholic drinks are not all top brands but the ingredients for cocktails etc still do the job. Bar staff are efficient and can mix up most required fancy concoctions. Bottled water is always on hand and if you go to the beach they will provide a cool box with beers, water and whatever. Nice! The resturant staff are a brilliant team and the only thing that is missing are the little touches that could add to the general ambience.[Sounds a bit twee but how about a flower on the table or a candle in the evening.] We felt the venue was safe and the rooms furnished well. Towels are changed regularly and the room cleaning is brilliant. Ok here comes the IF ONLY BITS The pool furniture is tired and needs urgent repair or replacement. We were told new ones were on order but when they are due to arrive no one knows. Hire a pool manager and all could be resolved. Last picky moan is that the music throughout the venue is not thought out carefully enough. Up tempo reggae at 8.30 in the morning is not really what is appropriate for an easy mood for the day and although I appreciate reggae is the prefered music for a caribbean holiday I would hope they take a good look at the overall content of it. Christmas music at breakfast..Oh my gosh we got it. Ahh Good at Christmas but not November. Just goes to show how little attention the staff pay to putting on the music. I know you will never please everyone but with so much varied music on the internet it is not rocket science. With a venue that has gone to so much trouble to get it right I hope they listen to their staff who agree with me and address it soon. Maybe when you visit it will be better. So if you want Hotel entertainment/pool games/Karaoke and the like this place is not for you. However if you like good food, happy staff and engaging conversation with other like minded guests then this is for you. Overall all the ingredients for a great holiday. Book it now!

My wife and I just returned from this fabulous place in Rodney Bay. First- I'll do a quick overview of the place in general so you know what to expect: Location: Rodney Bay is the tourist area located in the NW of the island. The large international airport is located in the south. There is essentially one 'highway' that will take over an hour to get to the area. It travels up the SE coast to the eastern coastal town of Dennery before crossing the country through the rainforest. This road is beautiful, but can be a bit daunting for those prone to motion sickness (due to the numerous switchbacks and local driving styles). The road goes through Castries (capital city) on the west and then up the coast to Rodney Bay. The trip time can be extended when there is rush-hour traffic, accidents, slower moving trucks etc. The driver will expect a tip (and will tell you he is not getting paid by his boss- happened both there and back). The resort is located a very short walk to Reduit Beach. There isn't a 'beach bar' but the resort will pack a small cooler with beer, water and/or soda with ice for you. Once you arrive on the beach, there are some designated chairs for the Soco House. There will be someone to show you the chairs with umbrellas. they will expect a tip (and will tell you they aren't paid by the hotel). There aren't any 'private beaches' in St. Lucia so expect to be asked relatively frequently if you would like a jet ski ride, drink, smoke/drugs, tours etc. The people are friendly and are not aggressive or pushy- just businessmen doing business. Hotel: The grounds are immaculate with pristine marble/alabaster decor. The lobby has an information/assistance desk, a small bar, a piano and restrooms. The dining area is located off the lobby down a small corridor. Outside, there are a few banks of long 3 story buildings that surround the main area with a small pool, cabanas, loungers, seating area and bar. All of the ground floor rooms have a walkout to the pool area. all of the 3rd floor rooms (which is where we were) have a balcony overlooking the pool. All of the second floor seemed to have an enclosed balcony but could open the windows to overlook the pool. (There are no elevators so if you have mobility issues, request a ground floor room). Dining: The resort is all inclusive, but there are no buffets here. All meals are served A la carte (seated, and ordered off menu in the dining room). The food is fantastic! The Breakfast menu is the same each day (see picture posted). We had coffee/tea and pineapple/orange juice choices as well. The lunch menu changes every 2 days, as does the dinner menu (different menus for lunch and dinner). Each meal was delicious and my wife and I tried to order different things just to try them all over the 2 days. We usually had wine or beer with lunch/dinner. There is also a tea time in the late afternoon. Accommodation: The room was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel. The complex is small and adults only which make it a relaxing place to stay. The room we stayed in was on the first floor (307) and had a large sunny terrace which was worth paying the extra for. This was useful as we had sun beds which are in short supply around the pool. Would be better to have more sun beds around the pool rather than Cabanas. There are sun beds on roof terrace bar area but there is no shade and access could challenge some. The food is generally very good and although it was nice to have the service, which was always very friendly it was at times rather slow and staff could be more aware of waiting times. The gym is in need of an upgrade as apart from the 2 spin bikes working the treadmill and cross trainer were out of action. There are plenty of weights. The nice beach is only a short walk away and the area reserved for Soco residents is looked after by Valery who is very friendly . The sun beds they provide you with are in poor shape however. Overall the accommodation is well maintained and kept very clean. Our room was very comfortable and good size with plenty of storage space and the shower always hot. In summery if there weren’t the issues we have raised we would have given 5 stars.

My stay was excellent on all levels. The resort had a quiet elegance, meticulously clean and very well maintained. The staff were irreproachable, always friendly and ready to help you in any way possible. The food was very good in variety, flavour and presentation. The guests I encountered were mostly from the U.K. or Canada. I highly recommend this resort for a relaxing, quiet holiday.

Lovely little boutique hotel. Many plus points Service, cleanliness, friendliness. Good food and cocktails. All of the staff are lovely. Cocktails by the pool were hotel quality, often in other locations they have been less good at the pool, not here. Special mention for Chester, who is fun, friendly and a great barman. The food menu changes every 2 days, except for breakfast. We were able to find everything we wanted on the menu. (One downside was that we both came down with travellers tummy troubles, probably due to shellfish) The restaurant staff are friendly and generally efficient. Yes, we did have to wait a little longer than ideal on a couple of occasions, but given the food quality and the dining atmosphere we were not too concerned about this. We just sat back and took a little longer to enjoy. Special mention to Jane our server on many occasions, she was fun and efficient. A cool box with drinks from the bar ( beer, water, soft drinks) was a great service on days that we went to the beach. Like other reviewers, we agree that there are not enough sun loungers at the pool. Having said that, the walk to the beach is very easy and special mention here too, for Valerie and Barry on the beach who looked after us, found us loungers and umbrellas etc. They made going to the beach a pleasure. The gym - unfortunately this could do with much improvement. It feels unloved and was extremely limited, limited selection of equipment and some basic items broken (treadmill in particular). Not a particularly pleasant space and not well air conditioned either. Recommend - Pidgeon Island, the Friday night street party and the catamaran cruise to see the Pitons. All in all, a very enjoyable stay at the Soco House St Lucia.

We just returned from SoCo House earlier this week and really enjoyed our one week vacation there. We absolutely liked the resort, which is small and because it's adults only, it was very low key and relaxing. It is such a nice place - all white decor, which is really fresh and cooling in a hot climate + it was spotlessly clean. Our room, on the 2nd floor. was large and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable + lovely, big, fluffy pillows. We had a couple of small issues that were resolved very quickly thanks to the help of the manager. We never had any problem with water from the shower ending up on the bathroom floor. The food in the dining room (so nice to have each meal a la carte) was hit and miss; some dishes better than others, but mostly good. As others have said, the service is very slow, but we weren't bothered - we were on vacation and in no hurry! The dining room staff were very good and special shout out the the "Wonderful" Eloise, who was amazing. Actually, all the staff were excellent all the way down from the super. friendly, professional manager to everyone else. There were lots of smiles from everyone. The walk to the beach was only 5 minutes and we were given towels and a cooler, filled with water and beer. to take with us. I really think that it's time that SoCo House got new sunbeds; the ones on the beach are in dreadful shape - mostly ripped and uncomfortable. The pool area at the resort was very nice, but there is definitely a need for more sunbeds. There aren't enough to go around and the flimsy deckchairs are pretty useless. They, along with some of the cabanas, should be removed and be replaced with more sunbeds . All in all, SoCo House is a lovely place for a relaxing vacation.
