We stayed at Domus Giulia at the end of a Greek island cruise. We spent 2 nights. The hotel was very accomodating. The location is walkable to the Vatican and to the major Roman antiquities.
Highly recommended.

We only stayed here one night. We stayed at a different place in Rome earlier but it wasn't available for this night.
This place is in a great location near the Piazza Navona. We could walk to a variety of great places including restaurants, wine bars, you name it. We even walked to the Colesseum from here. They also have a very nice breakfast and gave us very personal service and assistance that made check-in a breeze.
That said, the room was very spartan. There was nothing to it, though the bathroom was quite nice. But above all, the place is very close to a very busy road. You can't even open the blinds because the traffic is so bad and even with the window shut the noise is pretty bad. So if you are a sound sleeper, no problem. Otherwise, this is a real down side to the location.

It is in fact an apartment situated in a large building with private appartements and commercial activities converted into a type of bed and breakfast with 6 rooms and an excellent breakfast in the morning. Situated in front of the river Tibre and close by walking to a lot of the sights in Rome. Excellent host in charge of the facility.

We chose Domus Giulia because of its location – Vatican City and other popular venues are an easy walk – and there's nearby mass transit. It easily met those expectations. It's not fancy, but it was clean, quiet, comfortable and affordable. We found lots of dining options in the area. We found the staff to be extraordinarily responsive and accommodating; they went out of their way to help us with transportation to the airport and even delivered early breakfast for us when we left early – before their dining area opened up. The only challenge is that it's located inside a courtyard and doesn't have a typical "hotel" entrance. It took us a bit of time to figure that out initially, but once we knew the game plan, it was great. We'd easily go back.

The staff and breakfast were outstanding! The security (2 doors with code and 1 door with key)-felt very safe. The room was so small with an even small shower (needed a good tile cleaning).
