Hotel Roncesvalles

Wow!! Beautiful hotel in the heart of Roncesvalles. The rooms are ultra spacious and generous. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ok and there is plenty of choice - the freshly squeezed orange juice was magnificent. Highly recommend.

We stayed here after a LONG day on the Camino from SJPP and enjoyed our stay in this historical hotel. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. We ordered off the menu for dinner and enjoyed our meal. We also had breakfast the next morning and the buffet was beyond plentiful - pastries, fruit, meat, cheese, cereal, yogurt, breads, hard boiled eggs, juices, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, etc. The reception staff and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

Stayed in the hotel for the night on the Camino de Santiago. Of course it felt like heaven after walking so many kilometers! The reception staff was attentive and helpful. The room were clean and comfortable. The food at dinner and breakfast was very good .

I was checked into a spacious one bedroom apartment. There was so much room I hired a massage therapist to come to the room. It was a welcome surprise after a hard, wet, cold day over the Pyrenees. It was clean and comfortable. I would stay there again. I would recommend it to others.

An amazing stop on our Camino journey. An old monastery with a real feel of history. Our room had a kitchenette with a microwave. Fabulous breakfast, very helpful staff. The evening meals were quite expensive, so we bought a pilgrim meal from the hostel next door for a communal meal in the nearby restaurant.

After a physically demanding day on the Camino Frances this hotel having a lift is much appreciated. The staff were friendly and I was comfortable in my room. The dinner at the restaurant was delicious. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in Spain.

Arrived today after some friends on the Camino and despite having space I was told that I couldn’t stay because I didn’t have a sleeping bag and when I asked to pay extra for bedding / blanket (which online it says you can and I thought well I will save on the weight in my pack and it’s gives the albugue extra money to support). Sadly I was told bluntly that they don’t have these and I should go to the hotel. Exhausted I just moved on and paid for a hotel room nearby but later another pilgrim told me he got some blankets. I then went back to pay for dinner with my friends only to be told I couldn’t as she had no tickets - the place was not full and when I explained the predicament and that I’d have to eat alone there was no response. I’m a decent chap and friendly and speaking to a few regular Camino people apparently this place has become like over the last few years, so I am just l am just posting this as constructive feedback to the management so they can make positive change as this is the antithesis of what the Camino is about.

Our room was spacious, with an amazing shower and comfortable bed. After walking the SJPDP to here stage, it was a much needed break. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant/bar downstairs. The chapel for Pilgrims mass is right in front. We had a great stay.

A lovely roomy suite in the old hospital building that has been converted to a hotel. Comfortable bed, small kitchenette and living room area. Lovely restaurant on-site with three course menu available. Friendly reception staff who were very patient with our limited Spanish.
