Wonderful location and room and bath comfortable. Small issue with our room key one night, but was able to resolve it.

Top location close to the beach. Very service minded staff made us feel special and wellcome. Room was in the first floor which occationally impacted our sleep as noisy and tipsy restaurant visitors in the adjacent street had an urge to sing loud and clear around midnight. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and will come back another year.

This hotel is ideally placed in St Jean de Luz, everything is within easy reach esp the beach which is literally 50 m away. If I went back again I would choose room 9 with its little terrace and sound of the sea. ALL the rooms as well as communal area are spotlessly clean. Claudette the owner cannot do enough for you she is so lovely and really helpful as are the housekeeping staff. We had breakfast there the first morning and for 13€ you couldn’t go wrong including some beautiful freshly cooked scrambled eggs. Again I can’t recommend highly enough.

My wife and I stayed in this beautiful hotel which felt very much like staying in a bed & breakfast. The owner Claudette Silman was a very gracious host who saw to our every need. After a while it seemed as if we had known her over the years. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was provided by Claudette herself. We were told that it's the only hotel on that street; the location was fabulous-2 minutes from the water. We definitely would stay there again!

Comfortable and classic Basque welcome from the charming lady at the front desk. Rooms were pleasingly bright and cheery with spotless bathroom and quiet air conditioning. View onto the main pedestrian street so you are steps from the fun and fab dining choices. Altogether a great little hotel!

A perfect stay! The owner was incredibly welcoming, our room was very clean and breakfast was delicious. It was steps away from the beach, excellent restaurants and shopping. We can’t wait to stay again!

Hotel Txoko was excellent. The Hotel is located in the pedestrianised area and a one minute walk to the beach. The Hotel was spotless. Our room was very comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was very good. The lady managing the Hotel was very welcoming and was always available to offer advice or assistance. We were very well looked after.

First and foremost, the woman who runs the property, Claudette was such a joy! She was so warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable regarding the area/places to go. Claudette was also super responsive prior to the trip via phone and email (had some booking snafus' on my end - nothing to do with the property, she did everything to reassure me). She even called me a couple days before to let me know she'd upgraded our room at no extra cost so we could have one of the rooms on the back of the hotel with a gorgeous terrace! The property itself is in the MOST convenient location. We took the train and the walk to the property was 10 mins total. Rue de la Republique is where the action is in terms of all the yummy places to eat. It's also yards away from the beach...literally 1 mins from the front door of the hotel to the main beach. It is also a 2 mins walk from the front door of the hotel to Place de Louis XIV where there's always music playing and plenty of outdoor spots to enjoy some rose! Hotel Txoko (pronounced TCh-o-ckau) was steps away from the main shopping drag as well. The rooms were so clean and the ideal size. I stayed there with my boyfriend for 2 nights and 3 days. They had AC that actually kept the room cool because it can be quite humid this time of year...also AC in France is not a common well working thing in hotels I've found so this was a bonus. We also opted for the 12 Euro breakfast on the last day which was super yummy. We each had a croissant, pain au chocolat, bowl of seasonal fruit, OJ, coffee, and the local cheese and jambon. It rained our last day so it was super convenient to be able to enjoy breakfast before catching our train. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend choosing Hotel Txoko as your stay while in the beautiful Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Claudette and her team are a joy to interact with. Mostly recommend staying here as a solo traveler, couple, or family of 3. I also cannot stress this enough but ask for the rooms with the private Terrace on the back of the property - quieter and lovely to sit outside!
