Manoir du Cunningham

Really welcoming and helpful owners. The rooms were lovely; very spacious, clean, huge beds, great showers and the view from the top room was stunning. Breakfast had some lovely meats, cheeses, pastries, cakes etc. A fantastic hotel in a really good location - swam every morning; the sea a minute walk from hotel. Good restaurants nearby and without the crushing crowds within the walls.

Really great 3 star hotel with brilliant service, it could not be faulted. We had to check in late due to the arrival of our boat, and so the reception was closed, however we were given really easy instructions to access the hotel & given a room near the entrance, which we were very grateful for. The room was very clean & the bed very comfortable & a decent size. The continental breakfast was excellent with really good quality local products. We could not fault it, or the staff who were lovely & very helpful.

The Cunningham never disappoints. Lovely comfy large bed. Generally the Rooms spacious. The welcome is excellent and front of desk staff more than happy to book a restaurant for you if needed. The breakfast is good quality. There is some parking on site.

Lovely old building transformed into hotel some time ago. Comfortable, lots of character, good contact with reception when booking. 5' from exit of ferry port, in typical Breton suburb of St Malo called Saint-Servan. Free parking at hotel, but limited, lots in street outside.

The location is fantastic. A lovely 15-minute walk from the intra-muros, great restaurants a very short walk away and views to die for. And then the rest… • Lack of cleanliness. The place is filthy, in particular the terrace, with cigarette butts everywhere and dried bird excrement all over the place. Used glasses in the room not replaced/not noticed • The place is very tired and needs a huge refurb to justify the prices. • Very uncomfortable beds, no bin the toilet, mini-fridge not cool, curtains are old and don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in quite a while, Wi-Fi worked for about 20 mins on the first day, no basic coffee facilities in the room, no bar as mentioned on *********** as a facility, … • Lack of customer service, the general attitude of the staff was nonchalant. Took dirty glasses down to be changed, had the person at the reception check they were really used, as an example. A simple “sorry, I’ll get them changed for sure” would have been enough. Having read the responses to other reviews, I know they’ll get a sarcastic response back to this review, full of petty excuses, attempting to brush everything under the carpet, because it seems the establishment can’t seem to take criticism and tries to hide it away. To add a final insult to injury, we get a message, upon checking-out, asking that if our review is negative to email them directly and not to post on the web. Hence, this public review. It is deceptive and unfair to anyone thinking of spending their hard-earned money here, and they deserve to know the truth and not defensive so-called excuses. While the location helps justify the price, how the owners can get away from charging almost €300 a night for “this” is beyond me!

Charming small hotel just outside Intra Morus. A 15 min walk along the beach and port area will get you to the old town. Very big rooms, clean and a bedsize I have never seen before. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Absolute value for money

Arriving by ferry, the Manoir du Cunngham is a few minutes drive, and a 20 minute walk from the walled city. It's on the little ***** of land connecting the walled city to the mainland, so it has seafront on both sides, and wonderful coastal walks in two directions. It's an extraordinary, delightful, quirky building, full of turrets and colours, and inside it is simply a very comfortable old-fashioned French hotel. The proprietor speaks excellent English but kindly conducted all our negotiations in my bad French bcause I need the practise. He is kind and helpful and his restaurant reccommendations are worth listening to.

Séjour très agréable. Pas de problème de parking. Hôtel situé de manière idéale près de Saint-Malo intra-muros et des bateaux d'excursion. Restaurants sympa à proximité. Gentillesse du patron et de son collaborateur. Propreté ! Vivement à conseiller si vous allez à Saint-Malo. Seul bémol : comment adapter ce beau manoir aux températures de plus en plus élevées.

accueil très sympathique, au rez de chaussée, chambre et salle de bains très spacieuse, manque de lumière (à mon goût), et rideaux vieillots, literie propre et agréable, manque un coup de jeune mais sinon très agréable avec vu sur mer de l autre côté de la rue donc juste à traverser pour aller au bord de l eau
