The Rising Sun

The room we stayed in was exceptionally comfortable, spacious, stylish and full of very thoughtful touches to help make the most of the area - the OS map, the SW Coast Path guidebook and the dry robes - and other touches to make the most of time spent in the room. The Rising Sun is in a perfect location and has a wonderfully unstuffy atmosphere. The breakfast and the staff were lovely too. I highly recommend and much look forward to returning ❤️

An absolute gem on the Roseland Peninsula! We stayed for three nights and were rather sad to leave. Everything from the lovely garden and airy conservatory to our cosy room looked so pretty. There were even a beach bag and two parkas available in the room for our Cornish adventures, so thoughtful! Breakfast was absolutely delicious, we'd have loved to try every single option. And great variety at dinner too. The staff were really kind and helpful. Will definitely come back!

Great refurbed rooms. Staff weee very helpful. I was in room 3 which was a great view, huge bathroom and very costly. The Sunday roast was excellent. Breakfast was lovely, with and excellent choice of food. Perfect location and great value when compared with the other hotels in st Mawes

A great place to stay whilst visits Mawes. Well appointed rooms with comfy bed and beautiful linens , soft fluffy towels . House keeping team we’re amazing and there’s a well stocked drinks fridge in the room with complimentary milk plus if you fancy them two Korev beers too . The room rate includes a lovely selection of breakfast snacks hot and cold and the ladies who served were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We had dinner and Sunday lunch either friends whilst we were there and the choice and quality was amazing. All in all another great stay and would have been a 5/5 rather than the 4/5 if not for the two points below it took quite sometime to get served at the bar there always seemed to be a huge number of waitresses for the food but generally only one person serving drinks. Plus if you have a room above the pub outside area I would suggest not leaving the windows open at night as we we’re woken by the staff leaving to go home around 1130pm as they were talking quite loudly outside for several minutes enough to wake you up which was annoying

Great location in Saint Mawes. Close to small shops and the harbour. A great stop off point for those doing the South West coastal path. Friendly staff and efficient in all areas . Nice and spacious rooms. Great breakfast - had ‘Full Cornish’ and didn’t need lunch.

Fabulous hotel overlooking the harbour! Rooms were incredibly well fitted out, with loads of delightful extras, such as boxes of biscuits, fresh milk in the fridge, and these fantastic water repellent fleecy lined coats that I would have happily slipped into my suitcase. I didn’t! Oh, and an ironing board and iron that actually worked without spewing hot water everywhere; a rare occurrence these days! Fish and chips were fab…crispy, fresh…yum! To top what was a perfect stay, the hotel went to the trouble of posting out the scented candle I’d purchased, but foolishly left behind in my room. 1000% recommend!

I had a lovely welcome and I was pleased to be shown to a comfortable spacious room. An accessible room, although I did not need it, I was slipped in at the last minute. Comfortable bed with nice bed linen. Breakfast excellent, fresh and well cooked. I also had two lunches here which were also excellent. Impressed by nice biscuits on the tea tray, lovely fluffy robes and a dry robe for swimming, plus a huge tote bag for use during the stay. Premier setting in the heart of St Mawes, beautifully located and handy for the carpark next door.

This was a return trip for us to the Rising Sun and we were not disappointed. Our room #4 was a fabulous size, with 2 windows overlooking St Mawes. Beautifully decorated, and very comfy bed. The pub is right in the centre of St Mawes so a stroll to everything and parking next door in the p&d car park. Highly recommend.

Once again we had a great stay at the Rising Sun. The refurb and the new build at the back is amazing and absolutely first class! The staff are all very friendly and helpful and a special shout out for Jack who did everything to make our stay perfect. We’re already booked again, this is the perfect spot in St Mawes, our favourite Cornish location!
