Albatros Family

Having read some reviews of the hotel, we decided to book a holiday for our family (2 adults and 2 children) at this hotel. Check in was easy, although some comments about the 200 Euro deposit is correct. This can be paid cash or by card. We've already received this via card refund. The room was a decent size (studio) located on third floor at the front of the hotel. 2 double beds plus a sofa bed, with kettle, microwave, etc. (We were self catering). The room location itself was a small issue, as the hotel opposite (Playa Park) has entertainment until 10:30-11pm at night and can be quite loud. Didn't wake the kids up, and some of it we watched from our balcony. (Although some of it was pretty terrible). However our first night we were tired and went to bed early but couldn't sleep for music being played. The room had a decent air con system to. The staff were really good at the hotel, and all smiles. There's a female lifeguard at the pool who is pretty miserable and on her phone the whole time. The male lifeguard was all smiles and helpful. He let my son's play with their inflatables, etc in the kids pool, even though the day before the female lifeguard wouldn't allow it. We tried the food one night, but wouldn't recommend it. Bland and not much choice. The location is great, access (walkable) to 3 beaches nearby, all different sizes. We preferred Platja dels Llenguadets beach to the main beach at Salou, it's small with no facilities other than a portaloo, but it's quiet and it was great for snorkeling. Our kids loved it. Location wise the hotel is in a good spot, not far from the main Salou shops and bars. Plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. I'd go back again.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Friendly staff. Clean spacious room which was cleaned daily. And great view from our room with a nice balcony. Great location very short walk to the sea and small walk to salou town.

A perfect 3 star. Can’t fault this hotel at all! It’s what you expect with a 3 star. It’s also in a great location. Room size is very good, little bit dated but still smart. Staff were great especially Fai on the bar.

A fair 3 star hotel plenty to like in a great spot near to the beach .Check in we needed to send a copy of our email booking over to them although they had our names and the tour operator had had confirmed so a pain sending emails ,tourist tax need to be paid on arrival which is fair enough ,the 200 euro room deposit was a shock and could do a family's budget some damage .We stayed in room 108 ground floor ,clean tidy with good shower hairdryer ,fridge 2 ring cooker all up to standard cups were provided if you want mugs take your own a sharp knife may also have been useful but not provided . the room was dark with a poor outlook on to the road also noisy with work on the hotel during the day and noise from other hotels at night made the balcony not a place to sit and put a dampener on the trip .Pool area quiet and plenty of places to sun bathe

3rd time staying at this hotel,we love coming here its our favorite place to stay in salou its close to the beaches and lovely walk to town centre,the place got a makeover and things have certainly picked up there,the staff are very friendly and rooms are kept clean,cant wait to go back next year,keep up the good work.

One of the best hotel stays we ever had. Since the first moment and we met Javier (reception) it was a lovely stay with helpful friendly staff. The rooms were very clean and attended too. The food was excellent every night.. we were there for 7 nights and the dinner buffet was different every evening. Pool and bar area lovely and clean. Overall happy vibes around the hotel. Beautiful beaches minutes away and entertainment hotels opposite. Perfect if you don’t want to go far and just spend a week relaxing. We were made to feel very welcome and this played the largest part on us having a really lovely holiday.. Thanks to all the Albatross staff! X

We really enjoyed our stay at Albatros Family in Salou. Our room was really spacious for the two of us and we could see the sea from our balcony. Everything in the room and bathroom was clean and tidy, and we enjoyed having the little kitchenette as part of the room. Food (half board) was great. Lots of options, plenty of variety from day to day and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had thought we might eat out a couple of times during our stay, but the food at the hotel was good enough to keep us here every night! Salou was fun to wander round, historic Tarragona was a good trip out. The sea was absolutely lovely, we went in at least once every day. The walk from Albatros Family to the nearest beach was only a few minutes- we made the most of it!

Had a lovely time here, highly recommend, especially good for travellers on a budget. Good location, 10 minute walk to the main area of Salou, close to beaches, and only 30 minutes walk to the theme park. It is up a slight hill, but not too bad. The room was nice, spacious, and had everything you needed. Went half board, breakfast was nice, and a good variety, dinner however was a little bland and not much choice, so ate out most nights. The pool is nice, but area around the pool fairly small, though always managed to get a sun bed. Mostly a Spanish catering hotel, but staff all spoke good English and were always pleasant enough.

If you are posh and want a fancy holiday do not come here. We booked with Tui and this hotel was 30% cheaper than any other hotel with Tui in Salou, so bearing this in mind we couldn't find anything to complain about and I would be surprised if any other normal person could as well, but you always get one. This is a small freindly no frills hotel in a great location. Staff are great, food is good quality, not a massive range but good enough. Our room was great, we overlooked the street which was really good just to watch time go by on your balcony (have a nosey). We had a studio for our family of 4 (3 adults and 1 13yr old), they come with 2 double beds, sofa bed with another pull out mattress, plenty of room, modern and cleaned daily. The pool area is small with not many sun beds but every time we went down to get 1 (well 4 as we are a family) we always got them. Location is amazing, right near the beaches (3), slight hill to climb from centre of Salou but well worth it. The only nefatives we could come up with was 1. not much hanging space in the wardrobe for family of 4 and 2. the pool is a decent size but it gets deep quick, shallow 1.2mtr deep 2.5mtr, they do have a kiddies pool but for kids say 3-10 yr olds who are not good swimmers might be a bit ify. All in all GREAT hotel, big balconies+rooms, great staff, amazing location, cheap, clean. Oh and fantastic air con in room.
