Le Panoramic

This hotel had indeed a panoramic view of its surroundings. The room was not very large, and the bed was almost as the continental standard, which is a wooden box. Bathroom looked nice and worked fine with a shower, which I always prefer. It was also practical with a toilette in a separate room. Unfortunately, our room had what some hotel designer think is modern, just some rack inside the room instead of a real closet. However, the main feature was of course the view from our room. It was really something extra. We could also see that the hotel had what looked like a swimming-pool that was undergoing a major renovation. The breakfast was OK since scramble eggs as well as good cheese was included.

Le Panoramic Hotel is a wonderful, modern, clean, convenient hotel, for anyone visiting the village of Sancerre, in the Loire Valley of France. The property lives up to its name, as it is perched over the beautiful and mesmerizing Loire valley. Everyone at the hotel is friendly and helpful, and the employees that I ran into spoke English, as well as French. The hotel also offers a breakfast, which I missed, but considering how wonderful the hotel is, I’m sure that the breakfast was wonderful too. The location is just a 2 to 7 minute walk to most parts of this historic village and its numerous superb restaurants. The Tourist information office is just a 2 minute walk, and the people there are also very helpful. I would be delighted to return to Le Panoramic Hotel and recommend it to anyone visiting this lovely town.

We booked because of the stunning views and paid extra for a vineyard view. On floor 5, very disappointed that the window is so high and small that you literally have to stand up and hang out of it to really appreciate the view. Can't sit on the bed and admire it which is what we expected. Not really worth the extra as the better view is from the bar and breakfast area. On the plus side parking is plentiful even if it is on the street and it's only a short walk up into the centre where there are restaurants and bars. Sancerre is a beautiful place and will come back to this hotel but next time won't bother booking the view.

There are some nice touches and some frustrating aspects to this hotel. There is no restaurant so breakfast is limited and evening food comprises (well curated) Mason Jars of ‘deli type’ dishes that are microwaved to order if required. There are plenty of other options further up the hill in town. The terrace at the bar is a great place for a drink but is sadly frequented by too many smokers, making it impossible to enjoy a drink or food outside. The bar was also understaffed when we were there, with one (hardworking) member of staff struggling to cope. The rooms are comfortable but the lower terrace rooms (level -3) suffers from a strong smell of damp in the corridor and outside falls victim to the smokers again, which rather spoils any enjoyment of sitting out on your own terrace. Because the pool is also on this level, your view is more pool view than vineyard view and the noise from bathers and neighbouring rooms can be annoying. Any extra for a terrace is really a waste of money. The room has no wardrobe, no fridge and water is only supplied on one night. The bathroom is poorly designed with the tap barely reaching the was hand basin. Sound proofing isn’t great in the rooms, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. This is probably still the better choice in Sancerre as there is not much to compete with, but it’s only OK for a couple of days.

Very comfortable and exceptionally clean room with helpful housekeeping staff. The young woman in TASTE Winebar was particularly pleasant and helpful and enhanced what was already a very relaxing, comfortable experience drink wine, eating light food and sampling exceptional Cognac. I’m still in Sancerre and will be visiting TASTE again later this week with some guests. The hotel has been remodelled and rooms reburbished since I last stayed here a number of years ago and I couldn’t have wished for a more comfortable, clean, modern place to relax for a couple of days amidst the vineyards of beautiful Sancerre.

Clean updated hotel with free parking, a wine bar, breakfast for purchase and very friendly staff.

Stopped here for 3 days for my 60th Birthday. If you want to visit the region I doubt you would find a better located hotel. We had a garden terrace room, which led us straight out to the pool, yet was private enough that we could enjoy our terrace. The views from the room, pool and bar are stunning - with vineyards and amazing sunsets - even saw a wild deer. The room could have had a little more storage to put clothes away as we did somewhat live out of the suitcase. Staff were really helpful and friendly, helped my wife arrange Champagne and balloons on arrival as a surprise. There is plenty of parking across the road and it is only a short walk into Sancerre where there are plenty of places to eat. All in all a great experience.

We had a family room with terrace opening up to the gorgeous gardens, swimming pool and spectacular views. Lots of space for a family of four including cozy outdoor space. Breakfast included something to keep everyone happy and was served in a room with stunning views. Also had a great simple dinner in the bar restaurant. All wonderful!
