Hotel Kammerer

On holiday for a week in The Black Forest and, on Good Friday, our hire car got a puncture. We were stuck high up in the middle of nowhere with little phone reception and little help from Europcar and waited 5 hours for any help as Southern Germany is still quite Catholic and takes Good Friday seriously. The hotel we were booked into was miles away and eventually Europcar said they could get our car fixed by the following Tuesday, the day after we were supposed to be back in the UK. We eventually managed to contact the Hotel Kammerer, which was the nearest hotel we could find with vacancies and very slowly drove down into the town. We were then faced with a very angry, German, tow-truck driver. Our hosts were amazing at calming him down and eventually persuading him to take the car away without charging us. By the time we came down for breakfast the following day they had located us a car in a nearby town (rather than 2 hours away in Basel, which Europcar were telling us) and organised a taxi to get us there. My German is poor at best, and they were so helpful in sorting out a problem that was very stressful for us. I cannot recommend them enough!

Liked: ⚫ A good amazing hotel run by a family. ⚫ The breakfast was great. The hotel even packed me a breakfast as I planned to leave a bit early outside their breakfast hours. ⚫ Good location - at walking distance we can find everythig we need (supermarket, pharmacy, a good Italian restaurant, Pizza house, Driehspeis shops etc etc) ⚫ Rooms were clean and comfortable for a good sleep. Disliked: ⚫ The facility uses kind of an Open WiFi which was a bit uncomfortable for me during work. ⚫ The staff were helpful and supportive - but at times I felt a bit uncomfortable with their language. (nothing big, just ignorable)

es war eine sehr schöne Zeit, an nichts hat es gefehlt, Zimmer super, Chefin freundlich und hilfsbereit ( sie ist eine Wecker Sammlerin, wer einen Aufenthalt dort plant, bringt einen Wecker mit.) Danke für die schöne Zeit. Conny und Daggi ( Westerwald )

El hotel está ubicado en una pequeña población en el corazón de la Selva Negra. Esta dirigido por un matrimonio (Barbara y Will) que hacen lo imposible para que tengas la mejor experiencia en un alojamiento y la verdad que lo logran en una forma perfecta . Desde la simpática atención hasta los más pequeños detalles en la habitación y en el desayuno, que debo decir que fue uno de los mejores que he experimentado : la variedad, la frescura , la cantidad y calidad de los productos nos dejaron la sensación de haber pasado la mejor experiencia de desayuno en toda nuestra "carrera" de viajeros. Disfrutamos también de una cena no menos que "Gourmet" de manos de Hill , realmente delicioso y a precio muy accesible . Las habitaciones muy cómodas y con un pequeño balcón desde el que se observa el maravilloso paisaje de la zona , con una mesita y sillas para disfrutar de lo maravillosa que es esta zona .
