This place is absolute heaven on earth - there aren't enough words to describe it! We were incredibly fortunate to have found this unassuming little corner of paradise. So comfortable, so fun, so relaxing, so enjoyable, so easygoing - we just wanted to stay forever! Could. Not. Recommend. Enough! The room: Amy was kind enough to put us in the Pelicano, which is the highest up, the most private, and with the best view. Large room, excellent AC, comfy bed (though short if you are a 6'3" Canadian), lots of room for two men, big bathroom, excellent shower, room is refreshed every day except Friday, lovely balcony with stunning view, and a hammock and chairs to relax in. We didn't need anything else! The property: Built on a hillside facing to the west, so gorgeous sunsets and a staggering view. Lots of stairs, so probably not the best for highly mobility-challenged people, but easy to navigate. Lovely little pool to relax in and cool off at the end of the day. Beautiful landscaping so plenty of birds and other critters to observe! The breakfast: every day from 8:00-10:00 (but flexible), Amy lays on a great spread of pastries, yogurt and granola, coffee, tea, juice, sometimes toast, LOTS of fresh delicious fruit. The breakfast room is beautiful with the signature postcard view, and always lots of chatter with the other guests for recommendations, updates, etc. Wine, beer, spirits, pop, etc. are available for purchase, and endless water for free. If you are extra nice to Amy she can possibly lend you snorkelling gear, beach chairs and umbrellas, and hats. Bring a fridge magnet to add to the collection! The local area: of course the beaches - can easily walk to two! One is a shorter but slightly steeper hike (maybe ten minutes) to a smaller beach, very calm, good snorkelling, a few people but not a lot, very beautiful and relaxing, some shade available. The other is a slightly longer but flatter walk, and is ABSOLUTELY HUGE! And basically no-one there! Unbelievably relaxing. However, when we were there the waves were quite huge and the swimming was not great, but still a stunning beach. Right next door to AA is a full-service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner - excellent food and drinks, and great service. The wider area: a short 40 minute walk away is the neighbourhood of Tangolunda (or TL as we locals call it), which has a few cafes and shops, notably Cafe Juanita, which was delightful. A short cab ride away (85 pesos) is the town of La Crucecita, which has all the shops, coffee places, street food, taquerias, bars, restaurants, etc you could ever want! And of course there are dozens more beaches, each with their particular allure, so you can literally go to a different beach every day for weeks! Amy: by far the best thing about Agua Azul is the owner, Amy. Fluently bilingual, she can easily rattle off the answer to almost any question you might have, and if she can't, she find out for you in minutes (and if she still can't, she
