The expectations were high but it wasn’t what I was expecting. The humidity in the room was really bad ( the smell), exposed electrical cables in the shower head in the bathroom. However the service was very good as well as the staff.

Was further away from tourist area… in the evening walking back from the beach ( which is not far) there is nothing open / felt unsafe. Should have stayed by the beach area.
Power went out. Didn’t bother to offer an explanation.
I wouldn’t stay there again.

We had just 3 days at the Hotel Catedral Plaza and were SO disappointed to leave. The staff were all VERY friendly and accomodating. We were especially impressed with Gladys, a restaurant and bar server. Breakfast was impressive, with plenty of hot and cold choices - all included in the price. And what can I say about the pool? Absolute heaven - from places to sit to the amazing view!

Hotel is located right in downtown Santa Marta and within walking distance to the beach and restaurants.
I would recommend this hotel to other travellers visiting this beautiful city.

Short stroll to beach and restaurants. Comfortable hotel with very helpful staff. Good breakfast included and restaurant serves lunch and dinner, too.
