This was our second stay at the Veggera Hotel (our first visit was in 2016) and it is a lovely hotel. For peak season it was not too busy which was great! Although it claims to be a 4*, it is definitely more of an excellent 3* The hotel is clean and smart and is a perfect location - right on the beach front! The rooms have plenty of storage and have a fridge. We arrived in the middle of the night and there was free water in our fridge which was much appreciated. The bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable though! The rooms are serviced daily, however it is minimal cleaning - the water glasses were not washed or replaced once during our week long stay. The floors are cleaned but the shower curtain was very grubby. The breakfast was good and had a wide variety of foods. It was the same every day but it was good quality. The breakfast room is a bit illogical: they place plates in the corner behind a large pillar which means it’s a bit busy and a bit of a free for all. Mugs, plates and cutlery ran out every day but the friendly staff were working hard to replace them. The pool area is nice and not too busy. The jacuzzi works. The pool is fairly clean (lots of grit in the botom where people have got in straight from the beach). The grounds of the hotel are kept clean and tidy and are very attractive looking. Our room faced the sea and the shutters blocked out all light and noise. The only thing I thought really let this hotel down is that 4 days into the holiday they started charging €12 for sun beds on the beach. This really put us off as there hadn’t been a problem with people saving sun beds, there were always some avaliable. Many of sun beds on the beach were broken and the tables in between them were filthy dirty. Guests at the sister hotel were allowed the sun beds for free. My advice is to walk just 10m down the beach, if you eat at the restaurants for lunch or buy a couple of drinks, you can have the sun beds for free! If the Veggera offered a similar service, or had working, clean sun beds, the money might be worth it! The staff are this hotel we’re fantastic - very friendly, helpful and took pride in their jobs and the hotel!

The hotel is beautiful with a lovely, simple reception. Our room was one of the back rooms, it was very quiet in the evening and the sun was on the balcony during the day! The room service was great, upon request gave us what we needed and always kept the room nice and clean and changed the bins. My recommendation would be to provide a tea and coffee facility in the room. We went full board, which means eating at the restaurant next door but one to the hotel. Breakfast was lovely with a wide variety of food to choose from. Lunch and dinner portions are very plentiful, you will not go hungry! The waiter we generally went to was great and very friendly, Paros. Overall we enjoyed the food! Our recommendation is to provide a lunch menu similar to the snacks menu without the extra charge. The pool bar is fab, very friendly, welcoming and good vibes. Manos and the lady who bartend in there are amazing! Service is quick and efficient, Manos was very helpful and added to the enjoyment of our holiday! Finally, we booked a spa day which was just the best! The spa is off site of the hotel, just a short walk in another hotel. Alex and his colleague who provided our massage where amazing, definitely the most relaxing day we have had on holiday. We also got a gift from the spa, which smells lovely! Thank you for our stay!

So I'm actually sat right now on the terrace outside of room 68, which one previous visitor described as dark and dingy.... Not so... I've read enough other reviews to decide to write my own review. So we've had holiday upon holiday cancelled over the last two years and finally we get to finally enjoy some much needed rnr. After a heart attack in march we decided a long haul flight wasn't the best option so we decided to look at Santorini, an island my wife and I have both appears wanted to visit. After a lot of deliberation the veggera was chosen. First thing, you will be dropped off by the coach with minimal directions on the main road with a 5 minute walk. Walk down the road next to Dorian's bar and keep going until you get the the sea turn left and it's the second property. Don't be put off by the walk, the location is definitely worth it. We looked at other hotels while deciding and I'm so glad we didn't choose them as they're an awfully long way from the beach and the main ***** in perissa. The location of the veggera is perfect. The hotel itself is clean, I've never actually had a room so clean and well looked after by the maids so well. No signs of anything other than the occasional gecko on the steps around the pool. When you check in the receptionist will give you a Kamari tours leaflet, do it! They're excellent, and so much cheaper than your tour operator. We did the villages with oia sunset and would highly recommend. Breakfast wasn't a big deal, your usual hotel breakfast, yes ok there were times you had to wait for fruit, plates or mugs to be replenished... Big deal, what's the rush? You're on holiday to chill out not get stressed because Nigel in front just had the last two bits of watermelon! Dorian's bar is probably the cheapest for drinks, but you do have to endure the cringeworthy 50's and 60s music! Head to tranquillo, chilled vibe not as cheap as Dorian's not definitely worth a couple of extra euros to sit and chill in amazing surroundings. Yes the beach is co**** and hot. And yes there is a slippery shelf. The pool doesn't have parasols, we just got out there in the morning till about 1 and then walked all the way to the end (left) there's a a little restaurant that sells gyros and kebabs etc. Amazing food and very cheap! By the time you've walked, eaten and then walked again the worst of the sun is gone and can be managed with the odd dip in the pool. That's probably my only negative was that the pool was very cold, a few degrees warmer and it would have all been perfect. If I could aim this hotel up it would be perfect location, great surroundings, almost perfect hotel.

Veggera's location is unbeatable. It is quite literally a stone's throw from the beach and sits on the main Perissa ***** — there is a huge selection of restaurants, cafés, and bars within five minutes' walk. (Try Tranquilo for excellent cocktails and mountains of salad.) There is also a well-stocked convenience store and ATM by the main hotel entrance. The hotel is stylish and neatly contained with two medium-sized pools and poolside bar. Our room was a large suite with kitchen and small living area, hall, bathroom with large stone bath, and double bedroom with balcony. The balcony overlooked the main ***** and was excellent for evening drinks and people watching. Overall, we stayed and slept comfortably, but it was often loud late at night and early in the morning as people walked home from bars or drove by with music blaring out their windows. Light sleepers beware. (This probably isn't a problem for guests staying away from the main road.) We didn't have many interactions with staff, but they were generally pleasant and helpful. Our room was serviced like clockwork every lunchtime. Though we didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner, we did think the breakfast food was greasy and stodgy, and the coffee was essentially coffee-flavoured water. We generally ate elsewhere. Small ******* aside, the Veggera is an excellent and affordable choice for visitors seeking a week of quiet beachside relaxation away from the hubbub of Oia and Fira.

Hotel looked great on the pictures but was disappointing in real life. Our tap was loose, the bed broke 3 times a night with a 50 kg person, the dishes were all cracked und the cutlery rusty, many of the sunbeds on the beach were broken and there weren’t even sun umbrellas on the swimming pool, there were cockroaches in rooms, the breakfast wasn’t really astonishing either there was only one salt shaker for the whole room. I wouldn’t go there again, because the beach also had really slimy plates so one had a really hard time to get into the sea Some of the service was friendly others not, from the outside it looks really nice and also close to the beach

This is an awesome cocktail bar! The staff are gorgeous, particularly Manos, who has been our host this week. Discovered the mouthwatering Caribbean and the great nightcap that is Dark Passion. Both new cocktails to us and enjoyed in beautiful waterside surroundings. Manos - cocktail king

I rated this hotel a 3, but should be a 2!. Our room (or cellar) was below swimming pool level and very dark, bed uncomfortable and springs digging in one’s back, no tea or coffee or water facilities in the room. Guests putting their towels on sun beds at 6:45am to reserve them, then not using the beds until late morning, the sun beds are concrete and cannot be moved. Breakfast was nothing special, nothing was replaced until it was asked for, Cups, spoons, knives had to be asked for when none available.

Such a wonderful stay! Ideal location, very clean rooms, lovely breakfast and phenomenal service. We had low expectations as it wasn’t an expensive trip, but we had the perfect holiday. Thank you so much to everyone who works for the hotel and restaurant, we’ll remember our holiday for years to come xx

Room 68 is a cellar, dark and dingy, but kept clean each day. We asked for an upgrade only to be told the hotel was fully booked. Guests putting towels on sun beds as early as 6.45am. Breakfast is a free for all and not very well organised, and the usual one that has to have everything on one plate as if it’s their last meal. Having to ask for cups, cutlery, and other items at breakfast. No tea or coffee or Kettle in the room. We waited 3years for this holiday due to previous holidays cancelled due to Covid, and things that were requested previous, we got the opposite in this hotel. Only good thing is hotel is on the beach. This is my 3rd and last time on Santorini.
