So I'm actually sat right now on the terrace outside of room 68, which one previous visitor described as dark and dingy.... Not so... I've read enough other reviews to decide to write my own review. So we've had holiday upon holiday cancelled over the last two years and finally we get to finally enjoy some much needed rnr. After a heart attack in march we decided a long haul flight wasn't the best option so we decided to look at Santorini, an island my wife and I have both appears wanted to visit. After a lot of deliberation the veggera was chosen. First thing, you will be dropped off by the coach with minimal directions on the main road with a 5 minute walk. Walk down the road next to Dorian's bar and keep going until you get the the sea turn left and it's the second property. Don't be put off by the walk, the location is definitely worth it. We looked at other hotels while deciding and I'm so glad we didn't choose them as they're an awfully long way from the beach and the main ***** in perissa. The location of the veggera is perfect. The hotel itself is clean, I've never actually had a room so clean and well looked after by the maids so well. No signs of anything other than the occasional gecko on the steps around the pool. When you check in the receptionist will give you a Kamari tours leaflet, do it! They're excellent, and so much cheaper than your tour operator. We did the villages with oia sunset and would highly recommend. Breakfast wasn't a big deal, your usual hotel breakfast, yes ok there were times you had to wait for fruit, plates or mugs to be replenished... Big deal, what's the rush? You're on holiday to chill out not get stressed because Nigel in front just had the last two bits of watermelon! Dorian's bar is probably the cheapest for drinks, but you do have to endure the cringeworthy 50's and 60s music! Head to tranquillo, chilled vibe not as cheap as Dorian's not definitely worth a couple of extra euros to sit and chill in amazing surroundings. Yes the beach is co**** and hot. And yes there is a slippery shelf. The pool doesn't have parasols, we just got out there in the morning till about 1 and then walked all the way to the end (left) there's a a little restaurant that sells gyros and kebabs etc. Amazing food and very cheap! By the time you've walked, eaten and then walked again the worst of the sun is gone and can be managed with the odd dip in the pool. That's probably my only negative was that the pool was very cold, a few degrees warmer and it would have all been perfect. If I could aim this hotel up it would be perfect location, great surroundings, almost perfect hotel.
