La Mer Deluxe Hotel & Spa

We stumbled upon the La Mer Hotel while delivering a package to some friends who were guests there and we were so very impressed that we changed our hotel to the La Mer the next day! The impressive lobby gives way to a series of rooms around multiple swimming pool areas , with the rooms themselves being designed and furnished extravagantly, without being over the top. The rates were quite affordable, not much more than the 3 star hotel we had been staying at, and they come with an incredible breakfast buffet, champagne included. But by far and away the best asset that this hotel has is the investment in their staff, everyone was a delight to interact with , from their night manager to the Food and Beverage manager to the housekeeping staff and the daily front counter staff -all quite professional and accommodating to our every need ! We had a medical emergency occur during our visit and the staff was exceptional in assisting us and getting the proper assistance we required , they treat you like family and not just another guest . I cannot wait until our next visit to their hotel !

We stayed in La Mer for 10 nights in July. The hotel and amenities are very pretty - a little like being in a Greek village - quaint and quiet with white / pastel buildings and lots of trees and flowers. Very well maintained. Our twin room (a5) was lovely and had everything we needed. Good air con and comfortable. Spotlessly clean. A decent sized bathroom. A nice terrace area with comfy chairs. 2 good sized pools and a bar, lots of chairs and tables outside for breakfast / drinks. Adults only meant that the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed - lovely to be able to use the pool without splashing and noise! Perfect holiday atmosphere. Service excellent - all staff were helpful and efficient. A real credit to the hotel - nothing was too much trouble. Really good breakfast - choice of fresh produce, continental options and Greek specialities. Greek yoghurt and honey delicious and a platter of fresh fruit every morning. The orange cake with a cup of coffee is fabulous! A cheeky glass of Prosecco with some fresh orange juice a lovely treat. Great location - near to all of the restaurant shops and bars. For those who know Kamari yes it is on the flight path and the planes are fun to see! No problems sleeping. A couple of small points / suggestions… When we arrived we were shown to a double room when we had booked a twin and had confirmation of this by e-mail. This was a shame as we arrived late and really wanted to unpack and get settled. To be fair, the mistake was dealt with efficiently and we’re moved to a twin room by midday the following day. There aren’t enough sun beds and people are sometimes unable to find one. I wake up really early and like to watch the sun come up so wasn’t a problem for us but could have been. The unused upstairs terrace could easily be used to put additional sun beds and maybe a small pool or bar - a wasted space which could be put to really good use. A wonderful stay - we will be back I am sure!

Great hotel next to the sea and restaurants. Very friendly helpful staff. Clean and taken care of territory and rooms, not noisy, very good breakfast We got a free upgrade for a suite. Absolutely to recommend

Just returned from a week at this lovely boutique style adult only hotel with just 40 rooms. Booked direct with the hotel which was effortless receiving prompt confirmation by email. We were made very welcome on arrival by a very friendly receptionist called Ionna - who was always helpful during our stay! As were all the staff.. the place is spotlessly clean.. we were allocated an executive room on the first floor which was very spacious & had a balcony overlooking one of the lovely pools. Huge comfy bed so slept well during our stay. It’s worth noting that this hotel is located near the airport so you can see & hear the aircraft flying over but it was something we got used to.. Very comfy sun loungers - didn’t have a problem getting a couple each day for a few hours morning or afternoon. Just a short walk from the sea front but in a quiet area away from the hustle & bustle. The promenade has an array of restaurants to suit all budgets & we enjoyed some delicious meals during our stay / the best being Vassilikos!! Breakfast choice was plentiful - varied continental (croissants were delicious) & hot choice on offer - though didn’t seem to always be hot, which was a shame as everything looked delicious! The bus service from Kamari to Fira, just 20 mins away runs regularly €1.60 e/w. From there you can connect to other places on the island quite easily. Would recommend going to Oia another 20 mins from Fira, to see the sunset - which was amazing & the buses run late so you can get back no problem. Had a couple of treatments in the fabulous spa which were very relaxing too & skin felt amazing after! Like to visit different places so don’t often return to the same place but may make an exception here! Thank you La Mer for making our stay so special.. should be very proud of all your fabulous staff!!

I don’t know where to start with this amazing hotel! It is absolutely amazing! We arrived around 1am yet the staff that greeted us were still really attentive and really friendly. Check in was fast and we were shown to our room which was spotlessly clean, large with a really comfortable bed, a lovely bathroom and a gorgeous view over one of the two beautiful pools. We were met at breakfast by Panos the hotel manager who asked if everything was ok, I told him that we had a problem with the in-room safe, he had it fixed in minutes! The food at breakfast was lovely, lots of choices and you can eat in or outside. The hotel is absolutely immaculate and nothing is a trouble for the attentive and super friendly staff, from Sara who cleaned our room every day, Sandra and Anastasia on reception, nothing was too much trouble, to Bill our waiter on a morning for breakfast always happy and a huge smile to greet you! Every one an absolute credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is in a perfect position for exploring Kamari and all it has to offer. We plan to visit again as soon as we possibly can. I would highly recommend the La Mer to anyone, you not be disappointed, it’s a fabulous hotel.

Hotel has unique rooms, 3 couples, each room different, spotless and with pool view. Staff extremely helpful in setting up excursions, transportation and recommendations. Location was 50 yds to restraint row and bars. Perfect spot! The buffet breakfast was delicious. Welcomed us with a bottle of wine and desserts. Very clean and safe location, with easy access to a market that sold pretty much anything you may have forgotten.

Just had a week at this lovely hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I had booked a standard room which when we arrived late at night we found out to be quite small. I enquired could we upgrade and spoke to the lovely manager the next morning and this was arranged and they split the upgrade cost with us. One drawback with this hotel is that it is right under the flight path and the planes pass by very low and are very noisy.

If you're looking for somewhere peaceful and tranquil then look no further. Had a lovely welcome upon arrival, got shown around and taken to my room which is very clean and has plenty of space. Its a stones throw away from the beach and all the restaurants and bars. The staff here cannot be more helpful enough and are happy to answer all your questions. There was a spa and a gym and the pool is a nice relaxing area. These are the all the good points. the only criticisms: people put towels on their beds very early so be prepared to get up early if you want a spot that's in the sun all day. The breakfast is great and lots of choice, but doesn't stay hot so sometimes the hot food is in fact, cold. You are very close to the airport so planes fly over the hotel all day long and into the night so can be noisy but nothing too crazy. This is billed as a 5* but I think more like a 4*+ as a few things just weren't up to par but still a very lovely boutique style hotel which was very well maintained. I didnt see anyone eating dinner as the menu was limited and wasn't the most inviting decor for dinner and lots of choice elsewhere.
