Stayed 5 nights at The Catherine Ward house and it was great! Sonja the General Manager was very responsive to emails and informative of the area. The room was clean and they changed the air filters the day we showed up. The bathroom was stocked with the essentials, we had bottled water given to us and the first day we arrived a very nice staff member, Samantha, volunteered and went and got a gallon of unsweet tea for me without hesitation. The staff was very nice and the breakfasts cooked by Rebecca were great. Very accommodating staff. The family style breakfast was great conversation and it was great meeting people of all over the world. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful house. My wife and I had a wonderful experience. We will be back.

We had an amazing weekend in Savannah! Rooms are wonderful and Forsyth parc is next to this location. Also a ten min walk to the River side. The staff is very friendly and helpful and breakfast is good! The scenery from the house and different rooms are beautiful

My husband and I have stayed in > 60 B&B's and the Catherine Ward House is definitely in the top tier! The early check was such a gift as most inn check in time is several hours later. The Cosmopolitan Room was wonderful, beautiful and spacious. My (61) yr old husband sleeps like a teenager and our own porch was a perfect spot to enjoy the quiet mornings until it was time to wake him for breakfast. The bed was so comfortable it indeed was difficult getting out of! The proximity to town was excellent- a lovely 20 minute stroll through many different squares or a free bus (for husbands that don't love to walk as much as their wives). The downtown felt like Boston's Back Bay with such quaintness, history and beauty. The delicious breakfast was often 2 meals for us as we ate everything offered (as well as the cookies left out) and didn't need to eat again until the late afternoon. Would highly recommend Leopolds for an ice cream dinner! The rooftop bars over the river were fabulous places to have a drink and watch the sunset. The free air conditioned ferry across the river was an awesome choice on a hot day. Touring the air conditioned Cathedral was most enjoyable. We rented a car and enjoyed Tybee Island but it's not necessary as Savannah is a very walkable city! We loved it @ the Catherine Ward House and would highly recommend to anyone looking to spend time in a beautiful, historic, fun city!

First, Sam is exceptional & she made my stay exceptional. My room was beautiful & quiet & within a few steps, opened onto a lovely courtyard & Koi pond. A convenient location, close to Forsyth Park & very walkable to downtown & River St. Free parking. They accommodate gluten free and dairy free diets. It isn't handicapped accessible due to multiple stairs.

This was an oasis in a very busy Savannah weekend. I stayed during SCAD graduation weekend when rooms are hard to come by. The Garden Room was my home for the night and I look forward to staying again. It was spotless, cozy, and comfortable (probably the most comfortable bed away from home). Breakfast was gluten free (baked oatmeal, baked peach with whipped cream and bacon) and delicious. Very much appreciate being able to eat everything on the plate!

We stayed 4 nights at Catharine Ward House Inn. Sonya, the innkeeper, was helpful and fun throughout our stay. She cares a great deal about making guests feel welcome and taking care of our needs. For example, she offered to call the hop on/hop off trolley company which came right to the front door to pick us up. The included breakfast was the best we've had anywhere! They also catered to my lactose/dairy free needs and to other guests who were gluten free. Breakfast is in two sittings at either 8:30 or 9:30 a.m. Be sure to let Sonya know ahead of time if you prefer one over the other. Our room (The Cosmopolitan) was on the top floor of the coach house, just behind the main house. It was very spacious with the biggest king size bed we've seen and included a large outdoor sitting area with 4 chairs and a side table. Parking was free and behind the property in a well lit area. The inn was next to Forsyth Park and some great restaurants. We recommend Local11Ten which is a 5 minute walk. There is also a coffee shop and health food store on the way. The inn is a leisurely 30 minute walk from the river. It is lovely to walk through the small parks (squares) on the way. There is an excellent laundry place 5 minutes from the inn (Hall Laundry and Cleaners) that we used. We cannot say enough good things about this inn and will return the next time we are in the area. Thanks to Sonya and her team for providing such an enjoyable stay.

Catherine Ward House Inn was a great place to stay in Savannah. We will definitely return. This historic home is located less than a block off Forsyth park in a residential neighborhood in the Historic District. It is easily walkable to any site in the Historical District, but also adjacent to the dot bus loop. Our room was beautifully appointed and generous in size. It included a spacious bathroom and shower. The temperature control in our room could be adjusted to our specific needs. The best part of our experience was the hospitality. We were greeted and cared for by our excellent hostess Sonya. The inn itself sent us lists of restaurants, services and attractions, but our hostess amplified these by her own suggestions. The breakfasts were delicious and conversation around the dining table with other guests was a great start to each day. I could go on about all we saw and ate in Savannah, but staying at the Catherine Ward House Inn really made our stay in Savannah special.

I wanted to love this place based on all the rave reviews and so perhaps I set myself up to be somewhat disappointed. The house is lovely and well-restored. However, our room, the Cosmopolitan, left a lot to be desired. Its views were of a small parking lot, the back of a rickety-looking rental house, and an alley where trash was strewn about for the first couple of days of our stay. We had to keep the blinds drawn anyway because people would be able to see right in. The rooms are billed as having balconies. In fact, they are decks connected by a maze of different levels of outdoor steps that are very slippery when wet--which they were when we arrived, since the exteriors had just been power-washed. Power-washing is a necessity, but the outdoor rugs should have been taken up beforehand. We had to walk across a sopping-wet rug to enter our room and had to immediately remove our shoes so that we didn't track in the water and chemicals. The odor of bleach coming from the rug got so bad that we couldn't use the deck. Eventually, we asked the host, Sonya, for permission to remove it and she helped us drop the rug to the ground and roll it up. She was very apologetic. The decks aren't fully covered and are exposed to direct sunlight for much of the day. Our room was a little shabby, with wobbly lampshades and one lamp that was very tricky to light. You couldn't charge your phone on one side of the bed because the outlets are not conventional, so I had to prop my phone on a chair on the other side of the room and use an adapter to plug into a wall outlet there. No clock in the room. One of the oddest features was a clothes bureau that had drawers with no handles, only keyholes. There was a key to insert into the keyhole of each drawer to pull out that drawer. Also inconvenient were the heavy, dark, floor-to-ceiling curtains over the door. The curtains have long metal pulls that bang against the glass in the door when you open or close them. Because you have to keep the blinds and curtains closed, the room is very dark, and it was decorated with mostly dull beiges and browns to begin with. Those were the negative features. Now, for the many positive features! The bed was extremely comfortable and had plenty of nice pillows. The closet was deep and roomy. The air-conditioning worked well and there was also a ceiling fan. There was a fireplace, either gas or electic, but we didn't use it. The shower and toilet functioned very well, the bathroom was spacious, and there was a plentiful supply of towels. Toiletries were also provided and the host offered to get us anything else we needed. There was only one, small plastic wastebasket for the entire room. Not sufficient for two people over a stay of several days. No housekeeping is provided. We requested to have the trash emptied, the tissues replenished, and the bed made (once). The front and back doors to the main house are supposed to be unlocked at 6 am, but that didn't happen during our stay. We are early

I cannot recommend this bed-and-breakfast enough - beautiful, comfortable decor, immaculately clean, fabulous breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff, a quiet yet convenient location, and free parking!! Small, private patio with a fountain in the back.
