Resort Borgo San Rocco

This hotel is exceptional. From the moment of initial email contact to our eventual departure, we were very well looked after by all the staff. It’s in a really lovely part of Sicily. Yes it’s a little remote but it’s beautiful. The food in the restaurant was first class. The room was very comfortable. The combination of a very warm welcome and a lovely place to be, made the whole trip (one week in our case) unforgettable. The owner Vittorio and the principal receptionist Francesca justify a special mention.

A family run, engaging, joyous place. All staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms have great views and the whole area is beautiful. We used the pool a couple of times: great sun trap until about 4pm. Great to chill at. We ate in the restaurant on 3 nights. Not the cheapest meal in town but quality of food was exceptional. I don’t agree with a review which suggested the portions were too small. My wife and I shared a starter and a pasta dish then had a main course each. We were stuffed. The owner is charming and makes a point of welcoming all guests and checking on them over supper. He would frequently bring some of his favourite wines out to share. Yes the road up to the hotel is a bit challenging but fine so long as you bring a small car and stick in low gear. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in and gives you a perfect feel for the area after the Godfather tours have passed through. Of course if you are a Godfather fan, it is a perfect base. St Nicholas church is just up the hill and Bar Vitelli down the road.

Wow !! What a stunning hotel located high up in the hills of Savoca The drive to it is not for the faint hearted but once you reach the top you won’t be disappointed. Family run hotel - the owner Vittorio welcomes you a lovely gentleman . Staff are so lovely . A welcome drink is offered ( beer Wine anything you’d like ) We had a beautiful room overlooking the entrance and stunning views. Old style room with free standing furniture very much in keeping with the hotel . There is a swimming pool . We didn’t use it though There very little parking It’s a 10 min walk down to the centre of Savoca . We had dinner in the hotel - lovely food breakfast is the usual continental of meats fruit juices yogurt breads and cakes Would definitely recommend

Borgo San Rocco lived up to the expectations of an inviting Resort with breath taking views, superb accommodation and facilities. The staff including Francesca were amazing from making contact prior to arrival and assurance during the stay. ‘Vittorio’ is such a character and is so welcoming to all.

An amazing place to stay. Everything is good, starting from the trip from the airport to the resort (with the help of the resort’s directions - forget Google in this region) to the staffs sympathy. Aperol Spritz done with mastery. Nice rooms, amazing views, quietness, soulfull

The location is excellent, the views spectacular and the food in the restaurant was first class. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful, the owner Vittorio is great fun , welcoming, and extremely generous. The drive up from Savoca is a challenge, very narrow in places and some very tight hairpin bends but once there you can leave the car and there is a short pedestrian route back to Savoca.

If you’re looking at reviews for this hotel then you must be thinking of going…. Stop thinking and book it. This place (the hotel and the views) is just beautiful. The staff are some of the most welcoming and friendliest me and my wife have ever come across. They went above and beyond to help us with any of our needs possible. Helped organise a blessing for our anniversary at one of the local churches as it was pretty impossible for me to try contact a priest while I was at home (in the UK) Our only negative point would be the mattresses…. Just a little hard and not the comfiest (that’s just being honest seen as though it’s a review) but that wasn’t enough to lose a star in the rating or for us to of not enjoyed our stay. We will defo be going back. The owner Vittorio is one of the nicest guys we’ve ever met and I guess it has an impact on his staff as like I said above every single one of them are a credit to him and the hotel. The views are some of the best we have seen… Mountains, valleys, sea, clear skys, old buildings and so authentic. Definitely recommend a small car if you’re hiring one! Small roads! If you’re a godfather fan then you have Bar Vitelli and Chiesa di San Nicolò (church) just a short walk from the hotel. Enjoy!!!

We were 2 couples from England and stayed for one night. We wished we could have stayed longer. This is a superb hotel and the food is of an extremely high standard. Everything about the place is special. The views are amazing and the owners are very hospitable and friendly. We made use of the swimming pool a short downhill walk from the hotel which was is in a lovely setting. We had breakfast and dinner; authentic Sicilian dishes cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. There was an extensive wine list. Breakfast included home made bread, preserves and cake. The hotel is a very short walk to the church where parts of the Godfather were filmed and was well worth the uphill walk in the hot sun! We would not hesitate to return.

Liked · Our stay here exceeded our expectation. The scenery is breathtaking, the resort has around 20 rooms so hospitality is personal. We were treated like family from the moment we arrived until departure. Breakfast was plentiful and typically Sicilian. We also chose to eat at San Borgo every evening. The menu changes daily and there is a good choice of meals. Extensive wine menu with knowledgeable staff on hand to guide. Evenings at San Borgo ranked top of our stay in Sicily this year- for the family a**osphere created by Vitoriano. Our room was magnificent, a double aspect with a huge bed and large bathroom. There is a fair amount of walking/climbing to be done as the resort is on a steep cliff side. The pool is on a level below all of the rooms - out of the way and quiet - getting full sun from early morning till late! the pool bar was manned at around lunchtime till late with a selection of paninis and drinks. A short undulating walk takes you to the center of Savoca where there are a few restaurants (not tried)/shops/visitor sites The reviews you read are accurate and some negative comments about being worn out/outdated would apply if this was supposed to be a modern city center resort. It's not. It's rural, rustic and authentic which is exactly what we expected. Highly recommended!
