Hotel Torre

The hotel is situated about 5 mins from the slopes and he some pretty good views of the mountains. After that I run out of good things. The beds are ok, the rooms are basic but alright. Actually the shower was hot and wet. However, the food is poor. A buffet system works and there was always plenty of food (although I suspect that is because most people chose not to eat in!). Every meal had 3 choices of pasta (plain, sauce and random). A meat served with a veg was also available. This was complimented by a buffet of cold foods. On the face of it, not too bad. But the meat was rarely identifiable, pasta very Al dente. The general buffet food was cold, tasteless and unappealing. It was often left over from previous meals. Or had been left out for a long time. The staff was short with customers as they slipped the food onto a plate. Breakfast was small. One croissant and a choice of a small bowl of cereal, bread left out from the previous night. Reception staff were hard to find. No bell or way to call them. When they were there they were generally helpful. Lifts are slow, stop at every level and also broken down trapping one of us. There was a staff lift which we were not allowed to use. As a result, it took about 15 mins to pop upstairs to get something. The hotel is built on a spiral. An interesting concept, but totally rubbish with a school group (which there were a lot). No staff can monitor more than 4 doors, so food and other things are throw n around. Walking down in a morning would genuinely make me feel dizzy by the bottom. The central fire escape stairs are slightly better. Cleaning did not happen in our room. There was an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea and lots of people were ill. Can’t prove where it came from, but the hotel’s response was slow and poor. They did use Tacilla to clean with! Food left by school groups was left in corridors for 5 days, vomit in the fire escape was there when we arrived and still they when we left a week later. Rubbish from previous guest was still in my room when we left. The place is tired and uncared for. Fire doors have not been checked this year. The key cards for rooms often had to be reprogrammed. Armchairs in the games room are broken, backs missing from others. The bar operates a strange system where the barman cannot accept money, but instead sends you to reception to pay. As mentioned above, they are rarely there, so you have a barman who cannot serve drinks due to a missing reception staff. Beer also very cloudy!! I am sure I have missed something, but I do not recommend you stay here. If you have a school group, this goes doubly. There is not common meeting area, the kids will hate the food. They spread all the students around the corridor so you have the crazy situation of having a 5 minute walk between different rooms. There is no ski boot room. Instead you have to walk from the hotel to the sister hotel and use theirs. The one good thing is that there are lots of good piz

Very old and neglected building, one of two tiny lifts is not working, wifi not working, no toilettries, very poor breakfast, irrelevant hotel staff. I dont suggest this hotel to anyone. The only positive thing is location.

Far from fancy but a stellar location. Also, free parking nearby. Unfortunately no wifi, but you can try the town’s somewhat weak wifi.

Great location close to the piste, but that's it. Small rooms, building is tatty and the food is terrible. The evening meal was so bad that we called it quits after trying two days and went out for dinner in the end. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Beds are not comfy either. If you are on a budget and just looking for somewhere to sleep (badly) then this acceptable. If you are looking for a bit more comfort, then pay the extra and head elsewhere.

We went with school and the hotel is full of teenagers and a few teachers. I would not recommend coming as a family. There is no internet so I had to spend about £5 worth of data roaming. The rooms were spacious.

It was a cheap option so overall it was a good stay

L'Hotel Torre è una struttura che ha permesso a me e la mia famiglia di fare una settimana bianca dettata dall'avventura. I miei figli piccoli hanno imparato a sciare, seguiti da istruttori molto capaci, che sanno il fatto loro anche con ragazzi un po più grandi, il mio figlio maggiore è stato entusiasta dell'esperienza, come quelli piccoli, che erano stranamente propensi ad alzarsi la mattina presto per via della vicinanza dagli impianti. Le camere erano pulite e accoglienti, come lo staff che si è reso molto disponibile ad accontentare le nostre richieste. in fine la cucina ha permesso di mettere d'accordo tutti, il buffet aveva una scelta molto ampia e ha raggiunto le nostre aspettative.

Vecchio, sporco e degradato con camere piccole e bagni minuscoli, cuscini pieni di capelli, tende e copriletti sporchi, probabilmente non lavati da mesi e bucati da cicche di sigaretta. Dal bagno un odore nauseabondo di fogna. Il saliscendi della doccia rotto per cui puoi farla solo tenendo il diffusore in mano. Non si è trattato di una sola stanza perché ero fuori per lavoro con diversi colleghi che erano esattamente, chi per un vero chi per un altro nelle medesime condizione. Entri nel ristorante ed avverti un odore forte e sgradevole, in linea con le pietanze che servono e se, all' interno degli orari indicati per la cena, si arriva nella parte finale trovi pochissima scelta. Intolleranze e celiachie vengono trattati in modo poco inclusivo anche se anticipato via e-mail con largo anticipo: la risposta è la direzione non prevede acquisto di prodotti specifici pertanto possiamo solo conservare ciò che uno porta autonomamente. 13 piani a chiocciola, l'unica parte piana è quella delle camere pertanto è fondamentale l'utilizzo soprattutto a salire e per i piani alti l'ascensore (2 in totale..per due giorni una non è stata funzionante..per centinaia e centinaia di stanze...non ho visto la capienza ma è molto, molto ampia) generando un traffico ed un continuo chiamare ai piani tale da far diventare un'odissea l'uscita o il rientro in camera e non parlo di pochi minuti (tra lo sgomento di tutti). Una volta salito in camera (carta magnetica che a volte apre a volte no, frequente la richiesta della sostituzione a me personalmente due volte). Mi chiedo come sia possibile che le amministrazioni locali e l'ufficio del turismo permettano a questa struttura di poter portare avanti l'attività e non si tratta di un tre stelle ... perché pare invece siano due...perché non gliene darei personalmente neanche mezza. Riterrei personalmente opportuno avviare un' indagine sanitaria perche' tra odori sgradevoli e pulizie non adeguate si è oltre il limite della decenza. Alloggiare in una struttura non dignitosa come questa non giova alla promozione del turismo a Sestriere: la cosa che mi rimarrà più impressa di questo posto, nonostante le tante cose belle vissute, è lo sconsigliare vivamente chiunque di alloggiare in questa struttura.
