Guisu Homestay (Nanjing West Road)

The location here is very good, less than 10 mins walk to West Nanjing Road metro. Over there for lots of shops and eateries too. The only let down is the property. The master room bathroom drainage is very bad. When you shower in that room, the water will come out from the outside sink hole (took a photo to show the bathroom) which then means the floor becomes very very wet. Also the inside sink hole doesn't flow well and very slow. Secondly, the property smells like drainage/sewage especially when you come back after a whole day outside. When you turn on the aircon it ok, but if you don't you can smell it. Otherwise, location is good, service was very smooth and easy for check in, and easy to communicate with the management, just a let down in the property.

Rooms are big! Good for big families to stay together. Got a cosy "fireplace" as well. Overall quite happy and location is convenient!

The owner of the place was quick to respond over we chat for all the issues we had whilst staying there. As it is not a hotel, foreign passport holders will need to fill out an online form with the shanghai authorities. The place is as described in the pictures and is clean and comfortable. It is located on the second floor so we needed to carry our suitcases up a flight of stairs. Located near the exit of a residential area, The locals sell vegetables outside in the mornings. We like that there are a number of cute little shops near this place. It is not near Nanjing pedestrian road like I originally thought. It is about 2 metro stops away from there in the Huangpu district.

Good location nearby shopping area, however, property is located at a less than favourable backlane area. Room is not 55sqm as claimed and is approx. 25 sqm, with an outdoor patio of approx 20sqm. Toilet is very small.

The location is very central. It’s connected to many important sites: Starbucks reserve, Shanghai natural history museum and two metro lines. It was convenient point to travel from to explore Shanghai. There are also plenty of restaurants and shop. The rooms are beautiful and clean. It had many utensils for cooking and comfort. It also had a projector to watch movies at the end if the day. The information from the management is very clear and they were available to help us with all their needs. They sent extra water, tissues and helped us book a taxi.

The host accommodate us very well. Very helpful throughout the trip. The room is very nice and clean, plenty of space for a family. The location is super convenient! Will definitely come back!
