A big note to make is that this hotel do not have lift/elevator, which I did not see in the reviews before booking. However, I think there is only 2 floors and the staff will gladly help with your luggage. But I believe this should be noted as it can be inconvenient for elderlies and people with lots of stuff.
The hygiene of the hotel can be improved as well, it is not the worst but definitely requires improvement still. The corridor of the hotel smells and the room also has a little bit of smell when we first came in. These are in addition to the bathroom being slightly dirty when we first came in.
The hotel is surrounded by local shops, but if you are looking for malls and big restaurants you need to walk 10-15 minutes to Xintiandi and the nearest metro station. It is not too far, however it wouldnt be considered close either considering Shanghai's heat and weather.
There are bus stops around that can get you to spots like Nanjing street and the Bund in around 30 minutes, but this requires you to check on your maps/GPS, which is less convenient than the metro.
