Sheffield Meadowhall

Arrived late to the hotel after a very long drive, we were greeted by a man called Chris who came across as though we were an inconvenience to him, he was having trouble getting the key sorted, and the desk phone started ringing, he kept looking at the phone and huffing and was getting impatient with the system. We went to our room and i hoped for a good nights sleep. I noticed a fan in the room for which i was greatful as their rooms are always warm. I managed to get less than 2 hours sleep. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room was stifling. We had the window open and the fan on. The staff asked the next morning how everything was, i explained this to them and she just said 'oh yeah, we dont have air con down here for us either'. She completely ignored the fact that id said about the bed being uncomfortable as well.

The rooms are ok although we could hear the man in the room next to us all night. The restaurant decor and service are straight out of Fawlty Towers, just without the comedy value.

Mouldy bathroom, light that didn’t work, full car park, staff that didn’t know when to check out or if I could extend it. Disappointed and very expensive! Gent that checked me in was lovely and friendly and the bed was very comfortable.

Extremely clean hotel including corridors and restaurant. Rm was great . Comfy bed. Suitable if you have a little one as the room has three beds in it Bathroom has a bath and a shower .

The food has to be the best we have ever had at any Premier Inn in the UK. Coupled with this was the exemplar service from Trevor and Sam. What a great experience. As usual the room was to the very high standard we have come to expect from Premier Inns.

Ideal location for Arena and would use again. Few minor issues: Check in was busy and auto system not working so could have done with another member of staff to assist. TV In room (222) no volume on BBC1. Extractor fan in bathroom v v noisy- needs looking at. Guy in restaurant at evening meal quite abrupt, said no to changing peas to side salad ( it was sorted) and messed up drinks order. A smile might have helped!! Food was lovely as was breakfast but need to get new toasters as they were ridiculously slow.

We often stay at Premier Inn when going to events. This was a concert at the Utilita stadium. The hotel is a mile from the stadium so not a bad walk, although there is a team stop about 1/2 mile away. The staff were brilliant, chatty and friendly but it’s a shame this particular hotel is getting tired with a few cosmetic problems which could be easily fixed. Enamel missing off the bath, a bath towel with a hole, a broken curtain rail and paint peeling off the wall. The food is great, although can we be allowed to set the temperature of the toasters please! There ended up being a melee at that spot while people waited 5 mins for toast! Health and safety perhaps but we are grown ups!

I always enjoy it here .Food is fantastic good value for money.Trevor especially has been a fantastic host..Rooms are fantastic as well.Its been great staying here and will always come back .The staff or brilliant and always chatting with guests

Staff so friendly and helpful, Trevor on reception was exceptional he moved our rooms so we could be together even when he had to come make additional beds up. Room was clean except out toilet leaked alittle but was fixed next day. Had dinner in the evening and Chantelle in the restaurant was welcoming. They gave us a bottle of processco to celebrate our son winning his swimming competition. So thank you Chantelle and Trevor for making the end of a weekend better. Breakfast the next morning was okay the lady and older gent didn’t look to impressed to be there though. Food was hot and the chef made some great poached eggs. We will be back when we are in the area for the next competition
