Right outside the hotel, you can explore Gankeng Ancient Town. The front desk staff were very welcoming and provided free bottled water. The only downside is that it's quite a distance from the parking lot, but the hotel sent someone to pick us up, which was a nice touch.

The hotel is located right inside Gankeng Hakka Town, just steps away from all the attractions as soon as you step outside. My absolute favorite part was waking up in the morning, opening the curtains from bed, and letting the warm, cozy sunlight pour in. Looking out the window at the trees, the ancient town scenery, and hearing the birds chirping just sets the best mood for the whole day—it's so healing. The only downside is that it only gets really quiet around 11 PM after all the visitors and staff have left the town, and it starts getting a bit noisy again in the morning once the tour groups arrive. Everything else was quite good; the room was very clean, and the bedding wasn't damp like you'd get in cheap hotels—it was wonderfully crisp and dry. Overall, it exceeded my expectations.

Stayed one night with the kids. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the facilities were a bit old. The blinds were broken and had trouble going up and down, so they couldn't block out the light properly. The maintenance guy who came to fix them didn't bring any tools and just climbed on a chair without taking off his shoes... The phone was also faulty. The hotel's buffet felt like it was catering to tour groups. The price was very cheap, so for that price, getting a 4-star is usually a great deal. Maybe it's best to avoid the cheaper room types here. It felt more like a 7 Days Inn with a slightly updated decor. The front desk claimed my Ctrip member room upgrade was applied, but I honestly didn't feel any difference. I wonder if there are even worse rooms than this one...

The room was clean and odor-free. There are also many great food options downstairs. The only minor drawback is that the old building has poor soundproofing. Overall, it's a very good choice and highly recommended.

Excellent, I've stayed here many times. The service is great, the rooms are spacious, and there's a car service for arrivals and departures.

The inn is in a great location for the Gankeng tourist area. From the main gate/road/dropoff, it is very easy to find - just look out for KFC and go around. From the inn, it is an easy walk along the main road to all sights and food. The staff does a great job keeping the inn clean, but it is starting to show its age and clearly in need of maintenance, so things feel and smell dusty and musky. The inn also provides the weirdest tiniest toilet rolls that are obviously insufficient for a room of three persons (picture added) 🤔 Gym was also in need of more thorough cleaning and maintenance - this is not the place for gym users. Still, the inn was comfortable for a short stay, and overall good value given the competitive price. Not for the clean freaks who like new hotels or gym rats, but recommended for a short, somewhat comfy and cheap stay!

The inn is very easy to find, located just a short walk from the entrance of the ancient town. The room facilities are a bit dated, but its great location makes up for it, perfect for a short weekend stay. The hotel has an elevator, and there are many food stalls downstairs, which is quite convenient.

I stayed in a guesthouse in Gankeng Ancient Town for the past two days. It's a blend of Nanyang style and East-meets-West architecture. The room's furnishings, however, were a bit of a letdown; while the color scheme, space utilization, and decor choices were good, the actual furniture pairings missed the mark. On the bright side, the room was clean and tidy with great natural light and ventilation. The front desk lady was super friendly and attentive! It's also conveniently located. The location is fantastic, right inside the ancient city! There are food stalls just downstairs, which is super convenient. They also offer a shuttle service to the hotel. The front desk lady was lovely and even upgraded our room. The room itself was very retro and perfect for photos. It was a wonderful trip, and I'd definitely choose this place again next time.
