This place has the potential to get a 5 stars review, however the current management does not allow it. We visited this place a few years ago and the condition of the building and facilities were much better. Now the beautiful old furniture is full of dust. Our rooms had cute balconies open to the countryside that we couldn't use because they were full of bird poop. There is no bar open during the day, drinks have to be ordered by calling reception, and they provide it but always mentioning that it is difficult to provide this service due to lack of staff ... But the most disappointing thing is the organization. We made the reservation directly with El Cortijo because we knew that they did not have an open restaurant and that meals had to be reserved in advance. As I was traveling with my older parents and my brother, I wanted everything to be smooth. We agreed with the manager that on the day of check out we would have lunch there and that we could use the rooms (or at least one) and the facilities until lunch time. The morning of check out however we are told that we would not be able to have lunch. When I told them that we had already booked it, they replied that they would see what they could do but that we had to leave the rooms at check out time and leave everything at reception, all of this in front of my whole family. The manners were not the best and also the tone not very inviting to stay. Although they tried to solve the problem, we did not feel well received and decided to leave. I don’t mind to pay a late check out if needed or offered in advance but this was not the case or the arrangement. They apologized arguing a lack of staff and a large group that they had to receive afterwards... for me it was a clear example of a lack of hospitality sensitivity and ethics and a sad ending to a family reunion.
