Zatrzymałem się na kilka dni zarówno w hotelu Victoria, jak i odwiedziłem połączony na dachu ich siostrzany hotel The Palace. Trzeba zacząć od tego, że nie są to hotele 4* i 5*. Być może takie były, gdy otwierano 20 lat temu, dziś jest to maksymalnie 3* i 3,5*. Są po prostu przestarzałe, widać to i czuć. Jeśli zdajemy sobie z tego sprawę, to prawie wszystko inne jest w porządku: bardzo miła obsługa (szczególnie podziękowania dla miłego, starszego pana w recepcji), smaczne i urozmaicone śniadania, przytulne baseny i bar na dachu. Jakość sprzątania pokoi wymaga poprawy, lokalizacja pokoi jest kluczowa (unikaj pokoi od podjazdu w przypadku dostaw, chyba że lubisz słyszeć pukania i krzyki od 6 rano). No i cena: jeśli uda Ci się znaleźć ofertę do 100e/dzień to ok, powyżej nie warto.

The Victoria is in a good location within Sliema, off the main ***** where it could be noisy, though all the buses and ferries and all within 10 minute walk. The sauna and small indoor pool was good to use after a day walking around Valletta

Reservation for 3 person and received at midnight, already tired, a small room with 2 single beds. Need complain to get a bigger room with a sofa by end of 2nd day in a stay of 4 nights.
Asked front desk for a wake up call 7am in day #1 and 6:30am day #4, but none were attended, putting in risk a delayed meeting at Queen Mary University in Gozo Island, 1:30h driving + ferry. And in the last day in risk to lose flight back.

We stayed at the AX Palace sister hotel last year, which is joined onto the AX Victoria, and it was very good. This year we decided to give the Victoria a try for our honeymoon. We couldn't book the room we wanted on *******, so we contacted the hotel to try and arrange an upgrade, explaining that it was our honeymoon, and that I'd be happy to pay for it. They said the hotel didn't have capacity at the time, but they would arrange something nearer the time. When we got there the person on reception knew nothing about this and wasn't able to offer us any form of upgrade. To cap it all, our room had a balcony, but the door was broken, so the cleaners would leave it unlocked and open every day. When asked why we didn't report this, I stated that the staff know there's a problem and should have dealt with it. On top of this, the breakfasts were not particularly good, compared to the Palace next door, and the breakfast room was rammed with tables, so they could fit more people in, which meant that people are constantly squeezing between tables whilst you are trying to eat. Frankly we ended up eating out. We won't be staying at the Victoria again - it wasn't particularly cheap, and they disregarded our requests, making our honeymoon less than memorable. I wish we had booked the Palace instead.
