Hotel Admiral

Spędziliśmy tutaj 5 dni i jesteśmy zadowoleni z naszego pobytu. Pokój był prosty i czysty, ale typowy dla regionu i przedziału cenowego. Pokój miał piękny widok z małym balkonem. Pokój był codziennie sprzątany/serwowany. Śniadanie było wliczone w cenę i było więcej niż zadowalające. Lobby było proste z barem z dostępem do obszernej przestrzeni na świeżym powietrzu tuż nad brzegiem morza z doskonałymi widokami. Pracownicy byli bardzo mili i przychylnie nastawieni z dobrym angielskim. W pobliżu znajdują się restauracje, a autobus wahadłowy w przystani 2 minuty od hotelu do centrum i dworca kolejowego. Ostatniego dnia musieliśmy wyjechać wcześnie o 6:30 i zapewnili nam zapakowane śniadanie, co było miłym akcentem i bardzo docenione.

Piękny hotel, czysty i przyjazny, pomocny personel. Zmieniliśmy pokoje z powodu problemu z pokojem, ale zostaliśmy przeniesieni do pokoju z balkonem z widokiem na Wezuwiusz - oszałamiający! Jedzenie w restauracji było pyszne, a ogródek na wodzie jest piękny!

After seeing the latest review I was worried but everyone has their own opinion so they say !! However there’s a friendly welcome and good service. The reception, bar , Main restaurant/ pool area is Modern and bright. The rooms are a little dated but clean but more than adequate for an enjoyable holiday to Italy. We would definitely stay here again

Our room was a bit disappointing having expected these panoramic sea views (looking at a wall with sideways sea glimpses). Curious cages on the terrace where suddenly someone is standing outside your patio doors in their space. Dinner arrangements changed to Menu instead of buffet which very few people liked, so everyone went out for dinner and the sense of a casual community was lost. The bathroom was almost impossible, very small, no shelving and a sloping sink where everything toppled over at the slightest touch. As previously mentioned, too few PowerPoints and mirrors, bad lighting and other little *******. HOWEVER - we absolutely loved it here. The location is so gorgeous, the little unpretentious fishing community just outside with wonderful family seafood restaurants away from the crowded overpriced centre of Sorrento, though within walking distance, the friendliness of staff, the whole vibe, genuine hospitality. Shout out to the lovely Maria! If this hotel was perfect it would be unaffordable! I’m looking at the Sorrento Webcam every day longing to go back!

Rooms: by far the worst aspect of the hotel. Our room (410) was sp****ly furnished, dated, and chintzy, however it was clean. Our king sized bed was in fact two singles pushed together. I highly recommend booking a room with a terrace, rather than a balcony. The terraces on the 4th (top) floor are large and feature two sun-beds, two chairs, and a small side table. In May, they get direct sun from sunrise until around 16:00. Irons and kettles need to be collected from reception. There is no inroom facility for tea/coffee otherwise. Breakfast: breakfast was just sufficient, but not particularly expansive or imaginative. The food on offer was exactly the same for the entire week. Nice touches included eggs cooked to order from the kitchen and freshly squeezed orange juice. Staff: A particular strength of this property is the staff. All who we encountered on reception, restaurant and housekeeping were charming, efficient, and spoke English fluently. A particular thanks to the gentleman in housekeeping who fixed our flickering bathroom light less than 5 minutes after we mentioned it. The staff here are a credit to the hotel and are offering good, personalised service (e.g. our eggs order was remembered from day three, and the receptionist knew our room number without me mentioning it when I had a question). Location: At the very furthest end of Marina Grande, this hotel is NOT in Sorrento town. The marina is very pleasant, however the walk into Sorrento town takes around 20 - 25 minutes, assuming you are able to walk up quite a hill with a lot of gradual steps. If you can’t manage that there is a small local bus that runs up to the town for a couple of euros, but if you have mobility problems I’d generally recommend avoiding the marina altogether. The walk up into town is enjoyable and certainly helped counter our overindulgence in pasta and wine! Renovations: it’s worth noting that the rooms are apparently due for a major renovation over the coming months. Indeed, apparently some on lower floors have already been completed. This will be a game changer! The public areas of the hotel are already remodelled and they are stunning. If the rooms are remodelled to the same style and standards, this will be a great hotel. Wi-fi: wi-fi was very poor during our stay. 12mbps upload / 4 mbps download. We relied on our 5G a lot as a result. Air conditioning: it’s worth noting that this hotel doesn’t switch on its air conditioning until 01 June. We had to sleep with the balcony doors wide open. Thankfully there were no mosquitoes! Overall, I would not return until the bedroom renovations are complete, however when they are, I’d be happy to.

The staff at the hotel were incredible. Nothing was too much trouble in terms of service. The food was excellent and the hotel was clean and comfortable. I stayed here with my mother and daughter and we had a really lovely holiday. There is an easy bus into Sorrento (5 mins) and a downhill walk back (25 mins). There is also a small beach about 100m from the hotel. The pool at the hotel was not heated and doesn't get the sun for most of the day, so if this is important to you, you need to bear that in mind. Evening entertainment is a singer which we really enjoyed.

Room was okay, could have been higher standard of cleaning in the room. Charged for 2 glasses of ice when we ordered a beer. View was stunning. Had an issues trying to get a taxi from the taxi to the hotel as the drivers were choosing which passengers to take Gian Marco at reception was extremely nice and helpful.

There isn't a massive amount I can write as we were hardly ever at the hotel. I was a little disappointed that on arrival there was no welcome refreshments which would of been lovely especially after having a long travel day and it being 33 degrees on arrival. The reception/entrance is lovely as its very recently been refurbished however as soon as you enter the lift it all goes downhill. The room was OK, it was very clean and they provided fresh towels everyday however there was no fridge in the room which was a shame as we bought drinks from the local shop as the hotel were charging €5.50 for a diet coke! There was also no kettle with coffee/tea in the room. We had a large balcony which had stunning views over the marina. The food wasn't great in our opinion and there wasn't much choice however it is a small hotel so I guess they wouldn't cook too much due to waste. We were going to have one of our evening meals there but the prices were ridiculously expensive with not much choice either so we ate out every day. The views were gorgeous but that's what you expect when staying in sorrento, staff were OK, I wouldn't say they were overly helpful/friendly. Overall I wouldn't stay here again personally but if you are staying in sorrento and just need somewhere to sleep then it does the job however if you can afford to spend the extra money then I would recommend staying elsewhere. Please not as well that they do have "city tax" which they charge you at the end of your stay which i was unaware of!

Lovely clean hotel, terrace overhanging the sea. Really good hot and cold breakfast selection. Could do with a fridge in the room. Friendly staff, bar a bit expensive. Have to drag/carry your luggage a few hundred metres along the cobbled road from the drop off point to the hotel.
