Motel 6-Salt Lake City, UT - Central

We selected this hotel due to its location and wanting to have quick access back to the highway after a long day of travel. The hotel room is absolutely disgusting and wasn’t thoroughly cleaned (garbage was on the floor), there is mold in the shower, and the walls are covered in grime. We were getting ready to go to sleep and some random man walked into our room - the front desk staff had given him keys to our room! We went to the front desk to complain and not only did they not apologize, but they seemed to imply this was our fault. Turns out they never checked us in properly. We asked to speak to a manager since this is a very unsafe practice and had we not been in the room we could have been robbed. Front desk staff accepted no responsibility, and simply stated that we could speak to a manager in the morning. This is an extremely unsafe hotel and I would advise people to travel a little further away from the highway for better accommodations. After reading the reviews (something we admit we should have done first) it is apparent that this hotel does not care about their customers or their safety, or general cleanliness. They are obviously only in business due to the location. In summary, I would never stay here again and do not recommend anyone else does.

No one was at the desk when I arrived near midnight. Waited about 10 minutes. In the first room I was assigned, after about 15 minutes, a horrible beeping started from the heating/cooling unit. I walked back to the office, and was given another rioom and moved my stuff. Both rooms were cold--63 degrees, the bed was hard, there was one thin blanket, sheets had rips. The sink had razor beard stubble in it and the faucets were unseated. There were no hooks or drawers for clothes. The stairs up and stairwell both had ample amounts of cigarette butts, other trash and stains. I'm truly not a picky person but this place should be closed by the Depar**ent of Health. No toiletries.
