Linden Guest House

After flying down from Edinburgh found that the guest house was closed for renovation and no notification given......29th April for one night....had to find alternative accomodation before cruise next day....less than helpful after phoning and no return of money paid. ....very unhappy customer.

I made a booking, and paid for, one night here. When I arrived out the front the place was closed. I rang the number advertised. I was told the place had been closed since December 2022. I received no notification of this, nor was my booking refunded. The person who answered the phone was most unhelpful

So I’ve stayed approx 4 nights at Linden Guesthouse and my experiences are mixed. The entire guesthouse-especially the rooms-are dated, BUT the host lady is lovely and extremely helpful. The shower system is extremely strange, during my stay on the top floor it was only hot water, second floor only cold water, but the shower on the ground floor works perfectly which was a relief. The location is great, close to the city center and to the central station. The landlady is like a mother hen, she is looking after everyone’s and make sure that everyone’s happy and safe. To be honest 90% she was the reason why I extended my stay because despite the small issues (shower) she always resolved the problems instantly, plus I really like the complimentary biscuits and apple juice:-)

fairly priced, excellent location clean Bnb no cooked breakfast with go box inbthe morning rooms clean but bed was hard some parking spaces onsite will do for short stays, staff ok not very helpful when I was not given breakfast box

We stayed here for one night as a stop-off prior to a cruise from Southampton. As a short walk from the train station, it was highly convenient. On arrival, we were greeted by a friendly and attentive member of staff who showed us to the rooms. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, there were a good number of plug sockets and the wifi was efficient. Although the bathrooms were shared, they were clean and not busy. It is certainly a good value place to stay for the cheap price paid; we would return here again if we needed a return to Southampton.

Very very basic and dated, no cooked breakfast just a packed apple and juice with Belvita biscuits, parking is limited. Comunial tailet and shower, unless there are other room that do have en suit. Pros are very close to town within walking distance….sadly that’s it

Stayed there for 1 night before boarding cruise ship. I have to say this is the worst place I ever stayed. We were given room No 3, it was filthy, wall paper coming off walls, the shower head was so dirty we would not use it. The tiles were coming off the shower walls and the shower unit wood work was rotten and smelled. The drawers in the desk unit were dirty and falling apart. There was dust everywhere. Behind the bed it was thick there was holes everywhere. Photos to back up statement.
